I've been looking for a way to replace the display from an 8 inch Sync 3 with a larger screen (10-12inch) something similar to the F150 Sync 4 size, I'm not looking for a new infotainment I just want a larger screen that can replace the existing 8" and make a custom frame to fit it in my F150.

Is there some kind of plastic over the digitizer? I notice that I have bubbles and pealing going on my screen lately. So I'm assuming the digitizer must come from the factory with some kind of plastic cover?
Yes I actually found this out recently. You can disassemble the frame and peel it off!
What about the quality and safety of the chip digitizers? I got one from eBay and it is easily scratched and goes into sharp pieces in the case of a car incident. Is there original digitizers on sell?

If you replace the whole box instead of taking it apart as you did. Do you need to reprogram it. The glass behind the screen on mine is all broken is that what you replaced. Or did you just replace the outer screen.
If you're just replacing the whole display that shouldn't need any programming 👍

If the screen is cracked but the screen turns on, it's just the digitizer. If the screen is jumbled it's the LCD as well
How much will you charge me to replace the screen I have all the parts.
Recently the battery died on my 2017 F150, and now the touch function of the screen doesn't work. The screen and sync3 function normally, I just don't have touch functionality.
I've tried resetting it and pulling the fuse but it seems like its a hardware issue.
Would changing the digitizer solve my touch issue??

Ooph that's the actual LCD display. Probably best to get a whole new display at that point.
Have a Sync 2 screen that a piece of furniture broke the screen and the screen went black. Will a digitizer for that screen work to fix?
If the whole screen is black you need a new display as the LCD panel probably became broken at the same time. At that point may as well upgrade to Sync 3

Question.....how do you know its JUST the digitizer? We had our F150 stolen by tweens.....they tried to steal the SYNC & when they realized the couldn't, they repeatedly hit the SYNC screen with those orange plastic air filter changing tools.( they were in our console). Wish I could send a pic on here. The screen is cracked, but radio comes on & we can see it's lit up, just can't see anything. So this is all I should need right?
probably too late to help but likely youll need the lcd too. my mustang screen cracked and became unresponsive but you can see everything behind clearly

Possibly, but it could be the module. Would be better to test the module on a friend's car if possible

Hey there! The shells are the same but require a different board inside with more storage space for the maps packages.

There's a thin film on it that can be peeled off!!!

Only on 2020+ really. If your car came with Sync 3.4 maybe. But fixing the screen should still be straight forward

How do these hold up? Have you actually used one? I don’t want to replace mine with a cheap digitizer and it give out eventually. How much did you pay for this one? I see some for $50 and one for $250 lol
I've been getting them on Alibaba for $30ish recently. I've had one in my car for around a year. Quality is great and just as responsive as OEM.

Sounds like wherever you got the digitizer from, the factory put the polarizing film on 90° from the correct direction.

There is a way faster method
Of course, you can just pull it off with the lcd attached. That method obviously is a lot more risky in terms of potentially damaging the lcd display.
