You've actually made me understand the value of the colour wheel (something that four years in art higher education did not), and the different tools I will need to portray space. Monet used to paint a scene using multiple canvases painted/developed depending on light levels/changes. Say for the view from his London hotel room depending on the light he would start with one canvases then as the light changed switched to another canvas for that particle light and so on.
Very good indeed. Must grab my easel, paints and canvas when I'm back from my holidays. Very inspired now. I especially liked the first seemingly messy background but then it evolves into this blue-ish reflection of the background. Sometimes standing close to a painting one can see that it is just messy and easy little blobs of paint here and there, but taking some distance, the whole painting comes together as a true masterpiece. Very well done! I like.it big time.
