I was there in 1997 and I have the feeling that are a lot more socalled historical buildings. Everything I have seen is still there and it looks fantastic
this is perfect, my ancestor came from london to ballarat for the gold rush in 1849, great to see the place, didnt know it existed. Im first generation brit, all aussies before that
The classics are amazing, I like it very much, it's hard for us to see this place, thankfully there is still this place, for people who have never seen the 80s.
I was there in 2002 for a school camp. Had to dress up in the era's clothes. Everyone loved it except for me because I pointed out the fact we were entertainment for tourists because we spent 8 hours in the local school learning the era's education and had to put on a performance for tourists while our parent's forked out big money to go to a "camp".
@@spydersoup8447 not all foreigners are the same. A different European ethnic group coming to another western country built by Europeans is not the same as a completely different race that is not European at all entering a western country built by Europeans.
I used to visit this place in 2000, see the night show, have dinner in an old restaurant. A very wonderful ancient town!!!

I was there in 2014. Still remember it. Awesome times.
If anyone is going there, as a person who lives in Ballarat and has a yearly subscription to sovereign hill, GET THE RASPBERRY DROPS!!!!
I once drove from Croydon to Sovereign hill JUST for the raspberry drops :-)
YESSSSS I ALWAYS GET THEM WHEN I GO THERE. Too sad there are no “cosplayers” I guess you call them because of covid
So they still do them?? Lived there in ‘99 and they were magic
Very cool, really takes you back

I want some gold please
Very authentic Chinese invaders scrambling to find gold specs in the stream.
Not just the Chinese, other foreigners like Middle Easterners and Italians were there for the gold too.
