We look at the case of Hind Rajab, the 6-year-old Palestinian girl in Gaza whose case reverberated around the world when audio of her pleading for emergency workers to save her was published online. Her body was found two weeks later alongside those of her aunt, uncle and three cousins. The bodies of two Palestine Red Crescent paramedics, also missing since they had been dispatched to rescue her, were located in their ambulance just yards away. All had been killed by Israeli fire. "She was killed alone and scared, and our rescue teams were only meters away from her," said Palestine Red Crescent Society spokesperson Nebal Farsakh, who adds that more than a dozen PRCS aid workers have been intentionally targeted during Israel's assault on Gaza. Farsakh also discusses the kidnapping and assault of healthcare workers by Israeli forces laying siege upon Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis.

Israeli's have the right to defend themselves from military age males wearing civilian clothing because that is how Hamas has chosen to carry out combat. They have uniforms, they loved to parade in them before the fighting. However, they do not wear their uniforms in combat in Gaza, as they have so clearly shows in their propaganda films. That gives Israeli soldiers a legitimate claim that any military age male is a legitimate target. It's why it's a war crime to engage in combat wearing civilian clothing. Hamas knew this would result in civilians being killed and they hoped for exactly this scenario, where a child would be in a car with military targets, then they pretend that it's Israel at fault, not them for setting the conditions where this child was simply in the wrong place with the right targets.

Palestinian and Foreign Healthcare workers including the ambulance crews -- are heroes, as always. Y'all need to receive the Nobel Prize for wisdom and bravery. That's only partially correct. What Russell ignored is that in 1949, the losing Arab nations expelled over a million Jews who had been living in the region for centuries. The Israeli's took them in and housed them in the empty homes of the Palestinians. The Arab nations clearly could have housed the Palestinians in the houses they evicted the Jews from, but instead forced them into camps and refused to allow them to leave. You can thank the Arabs for creating the Palestine tragedy since they are the only ones responsible for it. If they had not expelled those Jews, then they could claim the Palestinians had a right to return to their homes. Instead, they chose to ensure that Israel filled their homes with refugees who underwent exactly what the Arabs claim the Palestinians did. If you deny the Jews are owed for the land the Arabs seized, then you can't demand that Arabs are owed for the land the Jews seized. One party is no more deserving than the other, yet the Arab world insists that the Palestinians are the only ones who suffered.

Hamas took the restraints of when they decided they would fight wearing civilian clothing instead of the uniforms they were so happy to parade around in before the fighting started. It's why it's a war crime to fight wearing civilian clothing, it only maximized the number of civilians killed.

Funny, I could swear that every video Hamas puts out showing their fighters in combat, they are wearing civilian clothing, meaning that being civilian doesn't grant you protection. Hamas knew this, which is why they don't wear their uniforms. It forces Israeli soldiers to view everyone as a potential threat, and you shoot potential threats in war zones.
