Good question! I’m not sure. I’ve never actually painted a portrait, but I bet it’d be beautiful. I’ve done silhouettes in mist but that’s it.
I love your paintings. I thought of you on a recent trip to northen California and Oregon, because you mentioned in one of your videos about the trees from the pacific Northwest. Those trees are so beautiful and tall, vibrant and smell amazing. I live in southern California but Someday i will live in a place with many tall trees.

Just tried the technique of the wet/damp paper towel you mentioned and it worked like a charm! ❤️ It added more smoothness to the fog and the trees.
Wonderful! It's great, right?! I love the hard edges, too, but not all the time, so using this technique is quite helpful.

Lovely tutorial. New subscriber. I would love to know more about your paint dishes. They look to be really useful for holding a full pan and having room to mix puddles of paint while having a small footprint too. Thank you for this beautiful tutorial.

The tiny pans I use are from an Etsy shop called TirraLyra, but it looks like they are taking a break. However, you can search for "enameled pans" on Etsy and find more of different shapes and sizes. I like them because it's less overwhelming when I'm using limited colors for tutorials.

Love the smaller footprint for my desk yesterday enough space to work easily with different values.. limited palettes are awesome…..even though I love color so much!

You do a misty forrest just beautiful, and I like the way you explain so many details.
I love painting landscapes, but my favorite are hot sunsets and sunrises.
Maybe sometime you can do a hot sunset, silhouette, with evergreens💕🖌x

@JackiePeacock I do not do a lot of hot sunsets, because I cannot hardly find any artist who do them. I would really like to find more watercolor artists that do.
I'm not that good at them, but I do look at photos, and work from them.
I usually use:
Quin magenta
Cad yellow
Cad orange
Winsor red
I'm not good at them, but I would love to learn more about painting a hot sky and silhouette sunsets.

I like the effect very much. I guess your painting would get much more depth if the foreground trees would be a bit taller, a bit darker and overlap the middle ground.

i have been painting and drawing for 4 years and i still don't see any progress :( what should i do??
Sometimes taking a little break and doing something else creative wise has helped me. I’ve taken a week off and that’s been good, but ultimately keep practicing.
Do you only paint misty pine forests?
It’s my main subject, but I paint mountains, lakes, rivers etc. but I mostly focus on mist when it comes to landscapes. Is there anything you’d love to see? Always open to suggestions.
