Like so many of the cases in the real world... And arguably correctly so, if there's no evidence to suggest a resolution is possible (ie: that it's provable that the accusation is true) - that's how innocent until proven guilty works, and why it's so valuable (and should not be undermined - however difficult that makes it to get convictions in these sorts of cases, the principle that allowing wrongful convictions to get rightful ones is a dangerous one).
That was brutal! And yet... Trying to be empathetic (disregarding how slimy and unlikeable the man is), you have to admit that IF he hadn't done it and she was lying (trying to pull a trick), then she deserved that scene. If he did it, that scene is adding insult to injury big time. As usual with this kind of story, the setup and so on is clearly intended to push the viewer into taking a particular side - perhaps with good reason, perhaps just playing up to our natural predispositions.
You can really feel the rape victim’s frustration when dealing with Norika. Wooden questioning, like what you would hear in a call centre staffed by Indian / Pakistani robotic computer-says-no employees.
