Great video! I’ve always wondered how to remove those pieces for things like paint correction and replacing a damaged piece of trim. Your explanation made this seem easy, if you have a little patience and start from the front.
Great video. Even so, I'll add my 2 cents. Instead of a towel and screwdriver, use plastic trim removal tools so you don't have to worry about nackering up your paint.
Thanks for the upload, the only video I found on the gutter trim. Mine flew off on the motorway, I think someone had tried to steal it as it was loose! The gutter trim is about £180 from BMW, still available from Germany and have an excellent finish. The jointing clip is £40!
Hey, nice video! How do you remove the painted trim behind the rear-side-window? Its already removed in your video. I‘ve already got the top 3 clips out and its dangling on a last clip/screw on the bottom end. Is that just a 4th clip? Scared to break smthn
I just did this on mine to black em out like the shadow line trim. Took me 2 hours on the one side and half hour on the other. For installation of the trim that goes into rear window seal on NON pop out windows. You HAVE to remove the rear glass/seal, install the trim, then install the window assembly. After wasting like 2 hours trying to install mine I found a redit thread saying to remove the glass. Did that. Took like 20 minutes. 😑
That's good to know ! Funny enough one side took me about an hour and the passenger side literally popped off with zero struggle in 5 min. I might need to get a new driver side 😆
@@TurbineResearch I really took my time cuz I definitely didn’t feel like trying to find replacements. I also wish I would’ve put a piece of tape to mark the location of the long one that goes above the door. Everything kinda uses that for alignment and it’s a pain if you have to take it off a couple times to get it in the correct spot.
