Just came across this video and glad I did. I also have a 2022 M5 Comp and couldn't agree more with everything you said, it is an absolute Beast! I ordered it in Grigio Telesto and I can stare at the paint color all day long. I do like the Rosso Corsa as well, looks badass! I'm not a Hybrid/EV guy so I plan to hold on to this one for a very long time. I went from a 550i to this and can't believe how much more power this thing has. Look forward to seeing updates. Best of luck!!
Thank you for checking the channel out and I appreciate you taking your time to leave a comment. Grigio Telesto is a phenomenal color choice. 550i's are very nice cars but the M5 takes it to another level. The F90 M5 is a masterpiece and will have a home in my garage for many years to come.
If you can afford it, yes! I own a 2022 M5 Competition and i’ve already driven 30,000 miles since buying it in 2023. I’ve spent around $18,000 on it so far, including gas, insurance, and maintenance. Tires make up most of the cost, i’m on my fifth set since I switch between performance and winter tires. It’s very fun in the snow! Sharing this for anyone considering 😁
At least BMW M have the courtesy to let the upcoming M5 go out with one more generation of V8, albeit tied to a hybrid system. In contrast, AMG has declared the death of the V8 for the upcoming E63 AMG, which will now use an inline-6 hybrid system. The C63 AMG fans have it worse since their new car has downgraded from a thundering V8 to an over-stressed turbo 4-cylinder + hybrid.
I agree 💯 MB really did a disservice to their E63 & C63 customers. Thankfully BMW is keeping the V8 in the next gen M5. I remain hopeful the hybrid tech pushes the performance envelope. My concern is the XM's drivetrain is very similar to what will be offered in the next gen M5 and it's performance is disappointing and the sales number are a clear indicator.
My wife has suv, I have truck…this would complete everything but she says who drives their kids in this…I sent her this video because of the car seat…looking for a white one now so Thank you for this review!!!
I really want to get a LCI M5 comp in the next 6 months. I wasn't considering red but that red is amazing. I'm so ready to have one. It and the Porsche 911 Turbo S are my dream cars.
The plug in Hybrid M5 is going to be a very exceptional car. You'll just have to get it. They even tested it savagely in Laapland winter, one of the harshest conditions in Europe. First time they're doing it since the E34, one of the best and over engineered M5s to-date. But why the G60 M5 is going to be exceptional, is the electric motor won't be used as a back up motor, the way Mercedes are doing, but as a second engine. Similar to the XM. Will be interested to see how much combined power it will make with the V8 engine. Rumor is, it will be a big leap in perfomance over the G20. The most fitting way to say goodbye to the ICE engine IMO. The BMW EVs are also going to be interesting. Read somewhere they're experimenting on adding individual electric motors to power each tire. so the rear wheel will have two individual motors powering each wheel. Audi are also killing it with the Porsches. Currently the best sport EVs in the market. Rolls Royce just released the best overall EV IMO Also ZF is working on a 2 gear EV transmission. So high end European EVs are going to have two gears. Porsches already have them in their EVs. The EV race is going to be a very exciting time for cars since the 1910s. When America truly made great cars. Not just massive cars and slapping V8 engines in them. Waiting to see what the Japanese will be bringing to the market. Sorry for long comment. A bit of a car nerd. Your M5 is brilliant and sounds like a treat, just don't write off the G60 M5 Hybrid yet. This is BMW M not Mercedes AMG. Even their EVs are a ton of fun. This coming from a guy who doesn't like Turbos in my engines. But eagerly awaiting the arrival of the last ICE M5. Especially that wagon.
Thanks for the informative comment. Much appreciated! BMW never disappoints with their M line up and every time a new model is released it outperforms the previous generation. What may happen is that the car loses some of its character traits along the way. For example the XM was supposed to be a competitor to the Urus and other high end SUV’s but has failed in doing so. Sure the HP numbers are there but the performance or should I say lack of has shown itself and deterred buyers at the current price point. Will the next generation M5 be lackluster due to hybrid technology, road course performance suffer from the increased weight & become similar to a Tesla Plaid with just straight line speed? In my opinion BMW is moving away from what makes an M car special such as sound, performance, looks while maintaining somewhat of an affordable price. I’ve driven the Porsche with the 2 speed transmission and it is much better than a single speed EV but still feels like an appliance compared to the Turbo or GTS variant. EV’s are a fallacy for being environmentally friendly considering the amount of raw material it takes to make a battery pack in addition to the damage that is done during the mining process. Not to mention the infrastructure to charge the cars are not where it needs to be to support the demand. Time will tell what happens and I’ll keep an open mind as the automotive landscape changes but for me ICE cars are still king of the automotive world.
There isn’t much that can compare to an F90 M5. The looks, sound, performance and luxury are second to none. If it’s in your budget I highly recommend it over an X3M.
The M5/M8’s aren’t as raw feeling as a Redeye but offers a refined package with the horsepower to run with any car on the road. It also has better tech, safety, AWD, & can be modded easily.
I have a pre lci f90 and looking into getting the stage 1 carbahn tune, i wish u get urs tuned and make a video on it, i really liked the G80 carbahn videos
I think this engine sounds so much better than the new s68 engine. So far, everything with the new engine sounds quieter. Awesome car, nothing newer will compare to it.
I agree 💯 The new model seems quiet and tamed down a bit. I’m sure an exhaust system and/or downpipes will fix that. The styling looks great in my opinion but weighs too much.
@@carguy302 No, I did not see any leaks. I occasionally remove the engine cover and check. Last, I agree with you about keeping your car; I am doing the same. If the new M5 grow on me which, I doubt then I will get a a LCI model. Everyone knows BMW history with new engine technologies (hybrid). I am aware it's the same engine as the XM; however, there isn't enough XMs on the road to discover issues.
I have had same issue with my ‘21 M5. Coolant lights has come on 3 x in the last 35k I have travelled. Everytime needed to get coolant topped up at the dealer.
@@tubefan2737 From what I can gather the engine runs hot and does require the coolant to be topped off occasionally. The good new is BMW issued a recall according to my SA and a new coolant reservoir will be available soon.
Yea common issue on the f90’s be careful with the coolant tank they seem to leak eventually and will find their way into fuel injectors, coils, spark plugs, causing misfire or cook your motor
Definitely seems to be a common theme with the f90 M5’s. I’ll keep a close eye on the tank to ensure I don’t run into any of the issues you listed. It’s a poor design and BMW should issue a recall and offer an aluminum tank or relocation kit to remedy the issue completely.
I had a 2019 M5 but traded it in for a 2023 X5MC. I miss the handling and crackles/pops. Did your 2022 M5C make the crackles/pops before the Ame exhaust upgrade? I’m tempted to go back to an M5. I’d get your exact spec 🤭😊
I almost bought an X5MC recently but decided to jump back in an M3. There look amazing. My M5 made cracks/pops before the AWE track exhaust but is more pronounced now. You can really hear the turbo spool from the exterior when driving off. I don’t blame you for getting the same spec. Rosso Corsa works well on the M5
I'm in love with this car and I'm planing on getting one. I'm in the search of a new or low mileage M5 Competition. I still have some doubts because I've heard about some common issues like Coolant Tank leaking and Rod bearings but I'm not sure if this is something we should really be afraid of.
I’ve owned my M5 for 2 years and it never missed a beat. Car has been a blast to drive and can’t think of anything like it. The F90 M5’s are at the top of the food chain. Have fun with your search & hope you find the perfect spec for yourself
