It's been soooooo long since I have watched cable TV. I've never seen an episode of Game of Thrones or The Sopranos. I don't ven know most of the shows. But I remember when HBO came out back in the 70s. Tells my age...
I like the fact that HBO was one of the first providers that made proper intelligent TV shows with a decent running time. It really does frustrate us non-Americans who find TV shows that runs for 40 minutes and filled with 20 minutes of adverts. Intelligent shows like the Sopranos & The Wire ran for an hour without any adverts, what made these popular in Europe is that many of these dramas meant you had to "engage your brain" and decide for yourself what Tony Soprano (TS) was thinking, rather than in many other dramas prior where they would have to spell out exactly what they were thinking in a diatribe - “gees I really hate that guy but I have to work with him.” Whereas TS would just shrug his shoulders and walk off, then the following week putting their remains through a meat grinder, because he was mean to his dog.
Netflix is the shit now youtube tryna make it happen with tv thing but you cant get all the channels even tho its has good original shows but DirecTV is killing it with the tv streaming you can stream all the channels on your phone tv streaming is the future
