Looking forward to seeing what's next on your adventures. That's a nifty little RV. I'd still suggest looking at a box trailer to pull but for now it looks like you're going to be just fine.
Just catching up on videos after being off YT for some time and super keen for the coming adventures Josh. Looking forward to seeing you down in VIC mate! 🤙
Onya mate, it's pretty cool getting out and around, I have recently had a outback haul in our van and loved every moment. Don't rush, take it all in, meet the people and have fun. Safe travels friend.
Good on you Josh. To be straight with you, I am even more keen than ever, to follow this new chapter in your life. So exciting. Whatever happens within this new adventure, will compose new lifetime memories for you and the followers of this channel. We anticipate a great journey ahead.
Good luck Josh. As much as i loved black betty im in for thr long haul haha. Vidz are awesome mate. Keen to see you riding all the different and amazing places in our beautiful country and what an awesome thing to do with your mum. I lost my mum last year and one thing that gets me through is the fact i spent nearly every arvo with her the last few years. Time is our most precious asset. That's pretty cool Josh! I've spent a lot of time in campervans in NZ and I absolutely loved it. The best part is you can be in so many different places but you're still in your home if ya know what I mean? I could easily live in a motorhome full time they're great. Good point about the hard drive and SSD's. Josh, if you need any advice on changing the drive(s), if needed in your PC or mods etc, let me know. I assemble my own computers and can possibly help you out with that

Good luck with the new adventure Josh. We've got a 2009 Ducato 3.0 based Rapido motorhome, which we trundle around Europe in with either a Honda Grom or 1977 TT500 on the back. They're great motors *if* you spend some time sorting out the problems caused by water coming down the windscreen. Seal that scuttle! Get an EGR bypass kit & make sure the throttle body's protected from rain, & check that the water pump's been changed. As they haven't got a cambelt, the water pump tends to be ignored. Get an OBD2 bluetooth dongle if you haven't got one. Re the fridge, they're fitted at the factory before the walls are built. Easier to take them out the front doors. I've replaced my 3-way with a 240v compressor fridge/freezer running off the inverter.
Thanks heaps for the info mate! I have heard about the EGR bullshit with them, didn't know you could get a bypass that sounds like a winner. I'll get onto the water pump and yeah I do have an OBD2 👌
@@MVDBR Tafmet in Poland do the EGR bypass, don't know if there's anywhere closer to you. Our waterpump failed in Wales. It's a 7+ hour job to replace it, so we were stuck at the side of the road for a few days phoning around trying to find a garage that would do it. Another thing to consider that you might already have looked into to is airbag assist for the rear suspension. Ebay kits are surprisingly cheap; well worth the expense with a bike on the back.
@@MVDBR try finding where the EGR valve/butterfly is in the inlet manifold and make a blanking plate for it; the valve/butterfly will still work so the electronics wont get confused; while you're at it, there are chemical inlet cleaners that get rid of all the carbon build up caused by the excess heat generated by the Exhaust Gasses heating up the fuel...i believe 'SeaFoam' is one of the better products; being late European (euro 5 compliant) the fiat will more than likely have a DPF in the exhaust as well; these are very problematic as they clog up and get extremely hot....i can't recommend removing it and replacing the section with straight through exhaust as it is 'illegal' but many late model 4WD owners get rid of them; remember, heat is the enemy of an otherwise efficient engine.
@@MVDBR you're welcome mate; the inlet Carbon build-up is a major issue with all diesel engines these days; my 2013, (only 120,000K) Mitsubishi Challenger that i bought 2nd hand was choked on the stuff so bad that i had to take off the inlet manifold to chisel the worst of it off; the spray in Cleaner worked but it was too far gone to completely clean it; i made a blanking plate for the EGR butterfly out of 2mm Aluminum and sealed with exhaust cement just in case; the car runs cooler, goes heaps better and uses way less diesel; a good (K&N) washable airfilter to replace the paper crap is also a smart move; just like the bikes, let it breathe young man!
Cheers to the start of the new beginnings and adventures man 🍻 When you start on your planing post up a ruff timeframe and places you may go , lots would be greatful to catch up for a ride or beer 👍👌
Hello Josh, Well that is quite a change, If it makes you and Mum happy then why not. Touring around the country will be very good for the channel. You can meet people all over the country and I am sure people will welcome you both when you are in their region. Be bold, be strong and be adventurous. I will continue to follow. Changing bikes is all part of Rider Life. David...Adelaide...Triumph Scrambler 1200X
Great to hear the new plans Josh, sounds like some awesome adventures to come, Just bought a CRF300 Rally (Still got Teena Tenere) Have thought about doing the same with the rally. I can't think of a better way to go exploring this fantastic country. Can't wait for the new content. All the best mate. 👍
When I saw a couple of hints that the T7 was for sale I was really intrigued what was next. Definitely didn’t see this one coming. Best of luck with it all Josh
Fckn sweet setup mate. Me in the occupation I am, I would recommend possibly carrying a spare water pump, some press fitted braided hose and any extra fittings ( and gas hose / line + fittings ) so you can fix ya shower, sink tap or gas stove line if need be on the fly. Regarding the Fridge, did they possibly crane it in overhead by lifting it in through the sky light ? It sounded like a heck of a mission to change out your fridge. Good too see you had essentials in the Fridge, Beer n Chocolate 🤣 Your RV setup / layout looks great and did you say a 480 Ah / 6.144 kWh ? of power 🧐, nice ! That's some juice. I am curious how it'll go running a desktop PC when video editing. I have been looking at buying some of that iTech myself. I am looking forwards to your video on the iTech gear 👍🏾
Good tips cheers Danny, have already had hot water issues which I'll cover in another vid lol. But yeah a spare water pump would definitely be a great idea. There's no way that fridge came in through the skylight, I'd say they must have put it in before the actual door frame itself, it might have just fit then. Yeah mate 2 x 240Ah LiFePO4 batteries I think that works out to 5.7 kWh (480 x 12v?) but yeah heaps of battery capacity just need a bit more solar I reckon but no more roof space really to put it lol. My PC & monitor use about 150 - 200 watts depending on how much cpu is in use so it will run for quite a long time, but then add 50-100w for the starlink and 60w for the fridge it starts going down quicker lol. But yeah the Itech stuff is really good bang for buck 💪 cheers mate
Big changes for sure Josh. Sounds like a lot of fun to travel around . Steve from BBA did that in his caravan for a while. I like your RV! Knock on wood for the mighty Fiat. 🤞 I've got an old Airstream that I've slowly been working on to pull behind my 02 F250 in my plans to escape California. I hear ya on the design being built around things like a fridge. Cheers to Black Betty, she's a fine motorcycle, a true legend! 🍻🥃 The 890 sold and I've put the first mod on my T7 (OEM Yamaha crash bars... I know weight but pretty minimal as bars go) but plenty have started arriving, lots of Camel ADV accessories and Denali lights. I might have a buyer for the 501 before I even had to list it. I'm never going to ride that bike the way is designed but I want to also sell my KLR 650 and I've got some ideas after that happens. alright, lets go MVDBR Enduro Van Life!
Hi Josh, another chapter ahead mate, sounds exciting. If you venture down here to Tassie, be sure to get in touch. Plenty of your style tracks down here. You never know, I might even whip up a bottle of Gatorade red 😂
Watch that space on motorcycle bike carriers, there is about to be a big crack down on them, they are not rated to carry the weight they say they are, down ball limit is at the ball, when you extend it past that point you are creating a lever and the down ball weight dramatically increases at the point the ball should be, not to mention that towbars are not rated for twisting side to side, and as you mentioned vehicle chassis is not designed to have that weight bouncing on it.
Doesn't really surprise me hey, it's definitely a dodgy setup there is a shitload of leverage on that towbar. I think it's probably going to be ok until the road gets really rough, that's when the stress factor multiplies hectically. Lucky we're not doing any 4wding in this behemoth 😁
@@MVDBR the ones I’ve seen on our travels that last end up using straps at each end of the rack back to a high point on the vehicle to stop the “wobble” and pull the leverage aspect in a bit. I think they look sketchier than they really are.
i have a rack n roll (rated at 170kg?) on the back of a navara….with the 500 husky hardly notice it there, then recently loaded the xr650r on and damn that extra 30kg’s made me look in the mirror most of the drive…tow bar is rated at 3500kg/300kg tow ball weight and mount at the rear of the chassis…as mentioned i figured the extra leverage/unsupported weight that the towball weight does not apply….just keep an eye on it josh
Good stuff. I subscribed before you had a T7 so I will be happy to stay subscribed. Sounds like a great idea to take your rides to your channel subscribers instead to them coming to you. Sounds novel and could be the start of something different. 👍
😱😱 bit of a shock but wow 🤩 what an amazing adventure and to share it with your mum ❤❤ How long do you expect to travel? A year or two? Good luck 🤞 can’t wait to see your new travel series 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Not sure on that yet mate probably do a smaller run somewhere first and see how we go, see who wants to kill who the most first 😅 A 1 year lap would be fkn mint tho cheers
Yeah the channel was definitely needing a bit of a pick me up mate numbers were getting a bit stale, so guess this opportunity came along at the right time. Cheers Scotty look forward to seeing your antics 🤘
Make sure you have a graphics card support in your PC, leaving a card bouncing around in the slot will kill the slot or the card very quickly without support.
Interesting stuff, sounds like you are making the best of the situation. I had a 2014 Ducato for over 4 years and it was very reliable, but yeah the replacement parts may very well be much harder to get compared to europe.
I think that’s a brilliant idea and I wish you all the best for the future. I’ve no intention of unsubscribing, I enjoy your videos and this is simply just another chapter in your life. Didn’t you have some dogs, are they coming with you?
Yeah mum's got 2 dawgs, she wants to bring one but I'm hoping she'll come to her senses and have my sister look after them both. Dogs are great but I don't really wanna be restricted to not being allowed in National Parks etc. Cheers man!
If I could only have one bike, the 690 would be it, I love mine. Fortunately I am able to have a couple of bikes so I will be selling my beloved 690 since I just bought a 500 EXC-F, to go along with my 890/390 Advs. I'm looking forward to the new content, I'm glad you could turn what seems like an abrupt situation into an opportunity for you and your mum. Here's a few bucks for some fuel, cheers Josh!
Thanks legend! Appreciate it man. And yeah the 690 is a great only bike to have, I may have gone with one instead of the T7 in the beginning if I knew I would be getting rid of my 500. Cheers 🍻🍻
Sorry to hear the T7 is gone, but makes sense. Dont worry, I would follow your adventures even if you had a pogo stick! Van looks cool, but I would research all the parts that fail, and buy spares now. Also a good idea to replace all the tires. In my former life I had to do Emergency Roadside Service in Sacramento, Cali. The tires were a critical part on all heavy vehicles. Does this mean no more T7 merch?
Congrats man. But noooo!!!! Not the Ducato. Just jokes. I wish you the best. I know some good blokes still in bundy who can get parts and stuff for you. Let me know and I’ll try get mates rates for ya.
brave choice going against your mechanic mate's advice but i wish you all the best with this new chapter in your life; embrace the change and enjoy it; we're a long time dead.
@@MVDBR when you get to Western Victoria...look me up; you might enjoy being able to move around in a shower and sitting with legs apart on the crapper by the time you get here; ridings nowhere near as good as Mary Valley but there's plenty of interesting enough fire trails to keep you entertained.
My mate retired and got a VW LWB Crafter 70K fitted it out himself he pulls a box trailer totally enclosed fits 2 CRF 300L bikes gear fuel tools in the trailer has a office in the back section of the van took him 12 months to build. Sold his big house has a small town house he rents out for 12 months on tour his is 67.

so keen to do exactly the same mate.. going to have to wait to retire first though!! The wife has never been into camping (👎) but is keen to buy or rent one when i retire in a few years and travel Oz. Bike carrier on the back and I'm g2g! Keen to see how you go 😃
Good stuff mate wish I could be doing something like that. Working for a caravan repairer years you made a good decision in Avan, ne of the better van builders out there. The only thing worse than a fiat is a fiat with a jayco 😆 Anyways if your travelling round Sydneys west hit me up I have a black T7 and can show you some of NSW and I also have 3 300 2 stroke enduro bikes. I can give you lend of one an we can go do some hard enduro riding if you like. Look forward to seeing your new adventures. Wish you an ya mum all the best in your travels.
Thanks man! Good to know, I have no idea about any of this stuff but yeah the Avan seems pretty nice. Only other one we saw in the flesh was a Winnebago Birdsville on a fkn Fiat, liked this one a little better 🍻 cheers
@MVDBR if you really want the views you need to get a hottie that likes wearing a G-string bikini or a funny side kick or better yet a funny hottie in a G-string bikini. Cha ching 🤑
Your worried about the Fiat.. wait till your see the transit van and auto push button clutch arrangement. I taught non emergency sector so the merc would have been first choice then the Renault. I don't think the fiat is bad. Wish you well. I too live with mum after the wheels fell of my marriage
I was thinking sure the Fords would have it sussed... guess not eh. Thanks man and yeah nothing wrong with keeping the old ducks company it can be a win/win cheers

@@MVDBR try finding where the EGR valve/butterfly is in the inlet manifold and make a blanking plate for it; the valve/butterfly will still work so the electronics wont get confused; while you're at it, there are chemical inlet cleaners that get rid of all the carbon build up caused by the excess heat generated by the Exhaust Gasses heating up the fuel...i believe 'SeaFoam' is one of the better products; being late European (euro 5 compliant) the fiat will more than likely have a DPF in the exhaust as well; these are very problematic as they clog up and get extremely hot....i can't recommend removing it and replacing the section with straight through exhaust as it is 'illegal' but many late model 4WD owners get rid of them;
remember, heat is the enemy of an otherwise efficient engine.
@@markhills3922 thanks man!
@@MVDBR you're welcome mate; the inlet Carbon build-up is a major issue with all diesel engines these days; my 2013, (only 120,000K) Mitsubishi Challenger that i bought 2nd hand was choked on the stuff so bad that i had to take off the inlet manifold to chisel the worst of it off; the spray in Cleaner worked but it was too far gone to completely clean it; i made a blanking plate for the EGR butterfly out of 2mm Aluminum and sealed with exhaust cement just in case; the car runs cooler, goes heaps better and uses way less diesel; a good (K&N) washable airfilter to replace the paper crap is also a smart move; just like the bikes, let it breathe young man!
yeehaw! Josh & Mum Trotting the Continent, can't wait to see this new chapter in your life, Josh! Loving the new home on wheels!
Thanks broha, hope you can source me some parts!
Cheers to the start of the new beginnings and adventures man 🍻
When you start on your planing post up a ruff timeframe and places you may go , lots would be greatful to catch up for a ride or beer 👍👌
Yeah mate I'll see what I can do, cheers 🍻
Hello Josh, Well that is quite a change, If it makes you and Mum happy then why not. Touring around the country will be very good for the channel. You can meet people all over the country and I am sure people will welcome you both when you are in their region. Be bold, be strong and be adventurous. I will continue to follow. Changing bikes is all part of Rider Life. David...Adelaide...Triumph Scrambler 1200X
Yeah you're the master of changing bikes aren't ya Dave 😎 See ya soon mate hehe
@@MVDBR Very true I am not afraid to try different bikes as my circumstances change. You are welcome if and when you get to Adelaide....
Thanks Jethro! Does seem like the ideal way to travel in style 🤞🤞
Josh mate far out, good luck and all the best mate ,,, The adventure begins ye. 👋🤠👍
Ye boi 😬🍻
Niceee 👍 look forward to seeing the new adventures being made
G'day stranger, cheers mate 🤘🤘
Good luck Josh. Sorry to hear about your marriage ...
All good mate, been a couple of years now. Good to see you getting back into the bikes Steve 🤘
All the best for the adventure mate, am sorry to hear it was almost a forced decision, but it will all work out for the best.
Cheers Pete, yeah should be a good change for the most part 😎🍻
When I saw a couple of hints that the T7 was for sale I was really intrigued what was next. Definitely didn’t see this one coming. Best of luck with it all Josh
I got so many messages on FB marketplace people saying "no not Black Betty!" hahaha. Kept thinking I had a sale 😅
I've got an old Airstream that I've slowly been working on to pull behind my 02 F250 in my plans to escape California. I hear ya on the design being built around things like a fridge.
Cheers to Black Betty, she's a fine motorcycle, a true legend! 🍻🥃
The 890 sold and I've put the first mod on my T7 (OEM Yamaha crash bars...
Man sounds like you got too many bikes! 😅👌 Cheers bro here's to the mighty T7s 🍻
Hi Josh, another chapter ahead mate, sounds exciting. If you venture down here to Tassie, be sure to get in touch. Plenty of your style tracks down here. You never know, I might even whip up a bottle of Gatorade red 😂
🤙🤙
Nah good on ya Josh, don’t let life stop you, always have a plan b or c, might be just what you both need. 👍🏼
Cheers mate! 🤞🤞
Finally new terrain on the channel 👌
😅🥴 still wanna ride your desert dunes 😍
@@MVDBR as i said to Nerb crew come as a group and i can arrange it for sure. Good luck josh with the new chapter 🙏
Yep, so many ignore the effect of leverage. 200 kg of ball weight from a trailer is very different to 200kg from an unsupported bike rack.
Not disagreeing with your points re ball weights etc but what is your source for the heads up on the crack down on the carriers please
Looking forward to this Josh, good on you 👍🏻 your poor mum 🙈🤣🤣
Poor me mate, poor me 😅
@@MVDBR 🤣🤣
Good stuff. I subscribed before you had a T7 so I will be happy to stay subscribed. Sounds like a great idea to take your rides to your channel subscribers instead to them coming to you. Sounds novel and could be the start of something different. 👍
Hopefully! Cheers man 🍻🍻
Good luck have fun :) Im on my way back to Panamar to get my T7 to ride to US to sell her !!!
Oh no why are you selling yours?
Sounds great mate this is living 👌 enjoy
Sure sounds good haha cheers man 🍻
😱😱 bit of a shock but wow 🤩 what an amazing adventure and to share it with your mum ❤❤
How long do you expect to travel? A year or two?
Good luck 🤞 can’t wait to see your new travel series 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Not sure on that yet mate probably do a smaller run somewhere first and see how we go, see who wants to kill who the most first 😅 A 1 year lap would be fkn mint tho cheers
Epic! I'm converting a van for some van life adventures too. I think it'll be great for your channel!
Ooohh, more tips for the unseasoned traveller, thanks man I'll sus it out 🍻
Interesting stuff, sounds like you are making the best of the situation.
I had a 2014 Ducato for over 4 years and it was very reliable, but yeah the replacement parts may very well be much harder to get compared to europe.
Fingers crossed won't need too many! 😬🤞 Cheers mate
Cheers 🍻🍻
@@MVDBR I hope Black Betty never hears you say that!
@@mattkaymoto 😅😬
Sorry to hear the T7 is gone, but makes sense. Dont worry, I would follow your adventures even if you had a pogo stick! Van looks cool, but I would research all the parts that fail, and buy spares now. Also a good idea to replace all the tires. In my former life I had to do Emergency Roadside Service in Sacramento, Cali. The tires were a critical part on all heavy vehicles. Does this mean no more T7 merch?
Cheers for the tips Phil 🤘 Not gonna get rid of the T7 merch any time soon but I do need to add some 690 stuff 🍻
sounds like a good plan
🤩
Gooday josh how's it going missed vlogg on Tuesday or this week, hope your OK and mum in the camper, keep on keeping on mate 👋🤠👍
Cheers cobber 🍻
best of luck mate! looking forward to your adventures. is your mum going to be your youtube sidekick? haha ktm 690 is a weapon for sure
She'll get on the back of the 690 to go pick up wine and groceries but that's about all haha 😅 Cheers Fezman
I am sorry for the T7.... Good luck with the fiat ...
🍻
Ive got a van and a 2024 890. I am going up Woodgate for a look around at the end of the month. We can tee something up if youre up that way.
🤘
Congrats man. But noooo!!!! Not the Ducato. Just jokes. I wish you the best.
I know some good blokes still in bundy who can get parts and stuff for you. Let me know and I’ll try get mates rates for ya.
You're a good guy Ricko I don't care what they say 🍻 cheers man 👌
brave choice going against your mechanic mate's advice but i wish you all the best with this new chapter in your life; embrace the change and enjoy it; we're a long time dead.
Living on the edge lets you know you're still alive 😅 Thanks heaps mate looking forward to hitting the road 🤘
@@MVDBR when you get to Western Victoria...look me up; you might enjoy being able to move around in a shower and sitting with legs apart on the crapper by the time you get here; ridings nowhere near as good as Mary Valley but there's plenty of interesting enough fire trails to keep you entertained.
@@markhills3922 🤙🤙
Awesome buddy. Im jealous. Funny how we get older and wiser and realize we need less. Sage travels
Safe....haha
@@hughmanoid1971 sage words Hugh 😁 cheers man definitely less is more 💯 Thanks man appreciate your support as always 🙏
Sweet setup Josh, let us know if your in Coffs Harbour and i will take you for a ride in the Bellingen area.
Fuck yeah, sweet as man 🍻 Cheers
If you head into southern NSW we will show you around. I ride with a guy who supports the channel and would be keen as to ride with you.
For sure man 🤘🤘
My mate retired and got a VW LWB Crafter 70K fitted it out himself he pulls a box trailer totally enclosed fits 2 CRF 300L bikes gear fuel tools in the trailer has a office in the back section of the van took him 12 months to build. Sold his big house has a small town house he rents out for 12 months on tour his is 67.
That's the go 💪 Would love to have the skills to build something like that myself, I'd make everything so much easier to access 🤦♂
I’m sure your gonna call into Darwin hey, looking forward to your “on the road with Josh and Mum adventures” I’m hitting the road on and Off after leaving Defence. Top stuff
Mate got to meet Timmo! Hopefully you have a new Grover by then 🤞
@@MVDBR I hope so
Come see us at Skytrek Willow Springs Josh. We can fill up a few days of mint riding while you two are on your travels.
How long are you there for mate? We can't bugger off for a few weeks yet
@@MVDBR at least till the end of this year, I’m working here. Good camping, great riding. Hit us up if you’re in the neighbourhood.
Fiat multiplied by Ktm equals pain but a lot of fun!!
Hahaha reliability plus!
so keen to do exactly the same mate.. going to have to wait to retire first though!! The wife has never been into camping (👎) but is keen to buy or rent one when i retire in a few years and travel Oz. Bike carrier on the back and I'm g2g! Keen to see how you go 😃
Cheers Tim hopefully it's as good as I imagine it'll be, you guys will be the 1st to know haha 😎
Sounds like and excellent adventure
Hopefully! 🤘 Cheers
Well get your butt down to Bendigo Vic and have a ride and a podcast with Mark, Angus and myself.. Beer supplied :)
Ride & beer sounds good, dunno about the podcast though 😅
When ya make your way to the States, look me up, I'm in Georgia 🤣
Bahaha I'll let ya know when we get the pontoons fitted mate 😎
They need to put your old T7 in a motorcycle museum . 😁
Nahhhh Black Betty needs to roam free 🔥
FIAT. Fix It Again Tony!🤣

Living the dream.
What do you do for a crust Josh?
You should be able to get work on the road.
Never heard that expression .. is that an Australian turn of phrase?
This is what I do for a crust 😁 it's just a small bit of crust but my Patreon guys keep me going 🍻
Must be Suzy 🤷♂
Your worried about the Fiat.. wait till your see the transit van and auto push button clutch arrangement. I taught non emergency sector so the merc would have been first choice then the Renault. I don't think the fiat is bad. Wish you well. I too live with mum after the wheels fell of my marriage
I was thinking sure the Fords would have it sussed... guess not eh. Thanks man and yeah nothing wrong with keeping the old ducks company it can be a win/win cheers
Like my ducatis beers up enjoy the road, it's great
Ducatis are ok, dunno about the Ducatos though 😁 cheers mate will do 🍻
Looking forward to the new content mate. Are you keeping the one channel?
I think for now yeah, if folks don't wanna see the RV content they don't have to 😬 Cheers Luke
