We see later in Rev 17:8, we read at the beginning and the end of the verse about the beast who was, is not, and is to come back, which is pointing back to the resurrection of the beast. Satan will not indwell the body of the antichrist. Apollyon, who is in chains in the pit will be the one to indwell. He will be a Christ copy “son”, Satan will be playing the role of the (false) father or (false) God.
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate hearing other viewpoints. Interestingly, there are those who believe that Apollyon is another name for Satan. Personally, I don't think Apollyon is Satan (as you say, he is in chains in the pit, which Satan certainly is not!), nor the one who indwells Antichrist, but I appreciate your thoughts.
