- Hi everyone. Today we are looking at one of the latest US MREs (2023 released) Menu 17 - Pork sausage patty maple flavoured. I've tried many US MREs in the past, but this is one that I've always wanted to test. Will this end up being my favourite menu? Which is yours? Join me and lets see what's inside.

Table syrup is cheap imitation syrup (note that the ingredients are corn syrup and other such chemical oddities and that maple anything isn't listed)
Actual maple syrup is probably too expensive. This wasn’t too bad though…. For an MRE 😊👍🏼

Table syrup.....
It is typically made by combining corn syrup with either cane sugar or high-fructose corn syrup, water, food coloring, flavoring, and preservatives. Table syrups were introduced in the late 1800s to fill the desire of maple syrup for Americans moving into urban areas

Definitely a breakfast mentthis Jono (reminds me of a McDonald’s sausage and pancakes breakfast) sweet and savoury (kinda works but shouldn’t lol 😂)

Arghhh! The preservatives, the colours, the sugar, the E numbers. Love to try it but a bit too health conscious now. Though I do remember having a similar one from the Iran/Irag war in the late 80s.
By the way, not tissues...toilet paper.
Yep I wouldn’t want to eat it everyday, but it was good to try a US MRE where I liked almost all the components. It might be toilet paper, but I pity the person who hasn’t to use it that way 😬 Have a great weekend 😊👍🏼

Right mate the best part of this menu is the blueberry cereal! The hashbrowns aren’t bad but I have a pack of hashbrowns and (american streaky) bacon that I’m saving for a rainy day 🤤
Sorry you don’t like the cinnamon gum; I don’t go out of my way to buy it but sometimes I like the spicy wake-up :3
Non-dairy US creamer = 🤢 it always clumps up and is like the lowest tier of free crap coffee and “creamer” while you have your car’s oil changed

Yes the blueberry cereal tasted like the most natural part of the ration. The hash browns were ok, but not like real hash browns (I like them crispy). Ooh streaky bacon ☺️
The non diary creamer is pretty bad. I’m thinking they make it non-diary to last longer. I’d say it was for allergies, but there can’t be that many lactose intolerant people in the military 🤷🏻♂️

I don't think American non-dairy creamer has *EVER* fully dissolved. I can remember it not dissolving (civilian version) 40 yrs ago.
