Normally grabbing a rod above the handle results in a broken rod, but the real bonus of the hover rod is that it is always protected by a thick layer of encrusted egg goo. :) My all-time favorite 1-piece hover rod was the GL3 982.
Here are the zone 6 commercial netting regulations: “The Columbia River within areas at and adjacent to the mouths of the Deschutes River and the Umatilla River. The closed areas are along the Oregon side of the Columbia River and extend out to the midstream from a point one-half mile above the intersection of the upper bank of the tributary with the Columbia River to a point one mile downstream from the intersection of the lower bank of the tributary with the Columbia River. All such points are posted with deadline markers.” They clearly state that no netting should be done at the mouth of the Deschutes River. If anyone sees or suspects any of this to be going on, it should be reported to the proper authorities. We need to do our best to ensure that areas that are closed to commercial netting are being protected appropriately.
Yeah. It’s hard to catch fish after a drift net goes through the fishing grounds at the deschutes every night. It gets pulled right at legal fishing (rod and reel) time.
Stick it out to the afternoon and let another pod of fish move in. Yes, winds do kick up but if you can motor right the fishing is just as productive as the AM sesh can be.
Watched this show on the NCW/Life channel. Interesting method. So, when pulled up and went to your secondary spot, that looked like you were unloading & loading out of the "The Locks" area. Am i correct? And when roughly was this shot? I know that 40,000+ Chinook shot up & over Bonneville in just 1 day about 2+ weeks ago but haven't followed since. Fish On, Lines Tight! 😊😊😊
You an use a spinning rod, it just won't be quite as efficient and the hook set will be a little less solid because of the way the rods are built. Either one will get you your fish if you have good bait and fish it straight up and down.
Please help her, please tell her she is worth everything and please lets start a website cor her that raises moneys for her please she needs us and she really needs you cuz your there please give her a big hug too please ❤❤ thank you for all you do. I love yall ❤

I think we launched at Mayer State Park. The date is given at the beginning of each segment. Thanks for watching!
I’ve heard of people using a small smile blade to add a little extra color or flash. Do you use something like that or just eggs and shrimp?
Just eggs and shrimp. Interesting idea with the blade but not sure how that would work in still water. Slowly jigging up and down? Never seen it done.
@@AnglerWestTV I think it’s just, if it catches the light right, adds something.
Can you use a spinning rod and reel? Doesn’t look like you need line counters.

What kind of finder are you using?
A garmin

Do you need the shrimp or would the Pro-cure shrimp scent work just as well?
Lots of fish caught with roe and Sand Shrimp Super Gel but it's hard to beat the real thing.
@@AnglerWestTV it’s also hard for us in eastern Washington to get sand shrimp!! Thanks for all the info. Keep it up. Love your videos!!
