If you aren't aware, there was a MASSIVE backlash against Jar Jar Binks. I don't know or understand it well enough to go indepth on it but it had something to do with racial sterotypes and stuff of that nature. I do know that the actor also recieved death threats and harassment to such a degree it sent him into a severe depression and struggled with suicide. He was, after many years, able to overcome it and go on to a happy life with his family and, IMO very bravely, get back into acting. He was so humble on social media about the welcome back by the Star Wars community in that episode. It was honestly so heartwarming to see a man forgive the community as a whole after they had either, treated him that badly or stood by and didn't do anything to stop it. Granted, I was 10 or 11 at the time and didn't know there was controversy until years later and I am guessing a significant portion of the fanbase is in the same boat. I am glad that is over and he has been welcomed back with a standing ovation. I think a meme I saw explained it best. It was the Grim Reaper meme and the actor was going with the grim reaper and asked "Did I redeem myself?" The reaper replied "No. That would mean you did something wrong." I am glad he has grown beyond those that hated him. I'm not sure I would be able to do the same if I had been in his shoes. Edit: I have seen and taken part in a lot of discussions about what it means that Bo Katan has taken off her helmet and was instructed to do so by the Armorer. Seeing this again it makes me reconsider my thoughts on it. I thought it was something like "redeeming" the other Manadalorians but now I think it's something different. I think the Armorer is setting Bo up to be the next Mandalore. She is saying that even though their tribe follows a certain way, pun intended, the Mandalorians need to unite. She is showing respect to a leader that does not follow their way. She is saying that all Mandalorians need to unite under something greater than individual groups and "correct" interpretation of "The Way". If so, that is a powerful endorsement of leadership. The most hardcore leader of Mandalorian tradition being the one to "nominate" an outsider as the Mandalore. Probably, the hardest person to convince that you are worthy to be Mandalore is the Armorer and she is the one pushing you to make the claim. It will give any Mandalorian tribe pause to conisder the meaning of that. The other Mandalorians might disagree or even be enemies with the Conclave but I wager that ALL Mandalorians respect the Armorer. Honestly, I get strong Shaman vibes from the Armorer. Just her role as guide and advisor but never before has she directly told someone to follow a path. She always offered guidance and advice on a path you wanted to take but never like tried to push someone in a direction they weren't already going. I mean Bo was on the path to unite the Mandalorians and become Mandalore but after everything that happened... That dream was dead to her. She had basically given up and retired before Grogu showed up asking her to save his dad. Bo has had such a massive character growth in these few episodes. She went from "I'm the Queen, now all you bitches bow to me!" to being a humble but strong warrior. I pointed out on a discussion about this subject, how she hasn't tried to take credit or hype herself up for the stuff she's done this season. What I mean is she hasn't tried to use any of her amazing accomplishments to her own ends. She saved Din and while she joked about it with him, she never asked for anything in return. When she saved Ragnar, she didn't ask for anything in return. I think after seeing the bonds and how they Enclave are a family, she understood what "This is the Way" truly means. She had gown up a princess. She had to follow all the traditions and it felt like, and in a way was, just a big show for the masses. It didn't have any meaning for her. It's why she put down Din and the Enclaves ways in the other season. Now she see's what it is supposed to be. Why it became a tradition in the first place. The Armorer sees that she understands that now and I think that's why after seeing her lead the Mandalorians into combat but make no more of that command than a single mission. What I mean is, she didn't try to keep that leadership position. She didn't let being put in charge go to her head or anything. Which is something that she has had a history of doing. It's a classic trope of "When you wanted to lead, you were not worthy. Now that you no longer want to lead, you are worthy to lead." It's a powerful character arc and amazing to see the writers do such a good job with it. I also want to add in, I am so glad they did the powerful female characters right. It's not in your face like that awkward "girl power" scene in Avengers Endgame. These are strong characters who earned their place through storytelling. Like every strong character should. It's not about anything but who they are. Din could be female and the same story told and the end result wouldn't change. I'm not well versed in the right terminology for how to explain it and if I put it in a way that is offensive, know that wasn't my intent. I, like everyone, have my own history and upbringing that tints my view of the world. I just do my best to respect everyone and I may mess up here and there but I always try to make it right and learn from mistakes. What I do know about this is that there is a right way to do female characters and THIS is the way.
It's been established in Mando that the Imperials have a LOT of Beskar: The Client paid Din in Beskar for getting Grogu, that one former Imperial had the Beskar spear, and we know there's more out there. Plus Din's armor is called "pure Beskar", not an alloy, so lots of non Mandoloarian options out there.
Yeah I'm calling bullshit on any actual mandalorians being involved in the jail break. They hate Gideon for his involvement in bombing mandalor, the enclave especially hates him for that combined with all the mando's killed on nevarro, plus any real mando isn't going to just leave Beskar fragments lying around. It's sacred to them. And that officer kane is 100% still a gideon/empire loyalist so I'd say she along with others like her are behind it and the beskar was left deliberately as misdirection to shift blame onto the mandalorians. The pilot probably won't buy it, but the new republic stoogies we've seen are all incompetent idiots who definitely would.
Seeing how good they did Zeb gives me hope for Hera & Chopper in Ahsoka, can't wait for that series. If you like Katie Sackhoff, you should check out Battlestar Galactica - an amazing series from the early 2000's.
4:10 Garazeb Orrelios (Zeb), you big beautiful lasat bastard 😁. 24:29 I had the same feeling during the bad batch season 2. and I really hope I'm wrong 😢.
I'm so glad you girls are doing these reactions. Your Helsreach reactions were some of the best stuff you ever did, and it's great to see you continuing that with other good shows.
If you like the alien designs in SW, you should react to Farscape. (I assume y'all are young enough to have missed it.) Jim Henson did the aliens. Claudia Black plays a badass, it's why her career took off. That woman in Mad Max 2 - if you've seen it, you know the one - plays the blue priestess. The main villain of season 1 also voices the pilot of the protagonists' ship, which is a living biomechanical beauty. The entire series rocks, even though it was cut short a season early and they had to tweak things for the grande finale.
I also have another strange question: it's been said that Grogu has been training a lot longer than the audience is aware of. So my question is: why does every story written assume that Grogu didn't take both the armor AND the lightsaber? Every article I read trying to determine if Grogu actually has it with him assumed he left it behind after choosing the armor and returning to Din Djarin. What if he chose both. Luke tried to make him choose one or the other but that doesn't mean that's the way it NEEDS to be Tarr Visla was a Jedi AND a Mandalorian. Why can't Grogu also be both?? That close minded Jedi way or nothing is exactly what caused their downfall to the Empire. Luke should know better than to just emulate the ways of failures. Obi Wan was a failure and so was Yoda. Their perspectives were a large part of why the order fell. Rather than learn and adapt, they doubled down on their nature's and shit went sideways.
I get that. One thing about Rebels, the underlying story is not how the Republic fell, but also how the Jedi failed. They failed with Anakin - Yoda felt the fear - kid misses his mother. Why don't they go and collect her and set her up nicely and boom Anakin has no more fear about his mother. And that fear transferred to his wife. Yoda blew it - And I felt that they way they portrayed him in the animated series is acknowledging that failure. So if Luke is communing with Yoda you can assume he might not be as strict on the decision on lightsaber or armor. We are just assuming he chose armor because he went back to Din. We haven't seen the lightsaber and Grogu did have to defend himself. Could you imagine he took the saber out against the kid and totally stomped him?. I agree, it is possible Grugu has the saber and when the chips are down and their backs are against the wall. Grogu starts kickin arse like his daddy(I'm saying Yoda & Yaddle got it on and his shame clouded his mind and wrecked the Galaxy).
@@shannonwoodcock1035 I can't outright deny that Yoda and/or Yaddle may be Grogu's father. That's just something we'll have to wait and see about. But with regard to having the lightsaber on him, it's also possible his body isn't grown enough to use it effectively yet. Even for his species Grogu is still very small. I also think that maybe he doesn't have enough training with a lightsaber. Remember he's still just barely more than a toddler. I would guess that during Order 66, Grogu was about the equivalent age of the Younglings Anakin butchered in the council room. Given that it's barely been 30 years since then he's likely the equivalent to say maybe a six to eight year old. He's shown an awareness of a child much older than a baby or toddler, so my guess is very young child like say a first or second grader. I mean even the Younglings Yoda was teaching in episode 2 had lightsabers, but those were likely practice sabers that don't actually do any harm. Perhaps the show is waiting for Grogu to get bigger. Or they just might give him a full on tiny version of a complete Beskar armor. I've googled images and they look like the perfect combination of cute and badass. lol. You should try taking a look. They certainly made me 😁.
"She walks both worlds!" is a very lovely way to say "She has no place to rest" Bo is now a living, breathing Recruitment Poster. Gideon holds all the Beskar and has been freed by Mandolorians. Mandalore cannot be reborn without all the Beskar. The Armorer desperately needs Beskar to justify her 'Station'; the source may not be important to a hard-core, 'git-er-done' zealot like her. When she made the armor for Grogu, she said it was from scraps. Something stinks on ice...
Why is it I can watch this FINE production and revel in it's genius... Harkening back to pirates sailing into a Caribbean harbor and giving it a broadside. mmmMMMMMMMWAH! Thoroughly enjoy it without a tear and I'm balling by the end of your reaction. I theorize that you two are emotion amplifiers. Fun as usual. "Hera" should show up at that same New Republic base. "Sabine" HAS to show up now that we're taking back "Mandalor" and... gee... I wonder who will be the final special guest star...? "CAPPIN'! THAR be SPACE WHALES comin' directly at our port bow arrrrrr..."
So just a question, do you guys film different pairs of the girls watching this show and decide on an episode by episode basis which pair to put up?? I mean is there also a non posted reaction of Alicia and Bells also watching this episode but you just thought you'd change it up today. Or was it just that Maddie and Nikki just happened to be there at that moment?? I'm actually genuinely curious.
Each individual series has watched by the same pair of girls so far. Maddie and Niki have been watching Season 3 of The Mandalorian, Bells and Alicia watched The Last of Us.
i made mistakes with the last comment i Put here considering i was in hospital it was routine its ok im home Now WE can say that Its good they are Moving there exlusivity From There Clan And Start fighting as mandalorians

I think just about every die-hard fan lost their shit when Zeb finally appeared in live action! I know I did. 🤯
I know right? My son lost his shit we he saw Zeb appear as well.
I have been waiting, WAITING, to see Maddie's reaction to live-action Zeb. Maddie joy brings me joy.
Seeing Zeb again was so cool but having Steve Blum voicing him again is amazing
The flip out over Zeb was also me flipping my shit, I love it. I even cried.

I loved Maddie's geek out moment over seeing Zeb, I was right there with you on that
Every time I saw Gorian Shard, all I could think of was what Pizza the Hutt would look like if all the cheese went really, really, bad.

Yup that’s what I was thinking to. Plant some beskar and shift the new republics eye on the mandolorians.

Bulloch canyon was named for the actor that originally played Boba Fett
When I saw you know who I got goosebumps thinkin' about all the others dat could show up!
Right? They're totally mixing in stuff from Rebels & Clone Wars, and it is awesome!
Bulloch Canyon, named for Jeremy Bulloch, the original Boba Fett.
Mandalorian Super Commando Combat Drop attacks are just EPIC!!!
I love that the Mandalorians have a talking stick 😂
If you love Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan, you should check her out in Riddick as one of the mercenaries.

The pirates give me serious Capt. Hook & Mr. Smee vibes.
Grogu is NOT a Jedi. He never completed the trials. He's only a Padawan.
R5 isn't a scaredy cat. He has PTSD

Nikki: I wonder how he smells.
My Inner Dad: With his nose.
This is the Way.
I laughed I cried it became a part of me. and Yes Zeb and the rest of the "rebels" animation are slated for live action
In terms of the side story stuff, its because they kind of folded what would have been the Rangers of the Republic show into this season.
I have question. Have either of you watched Katee Sackhoff in Battle star Galactica?

It will be really interesting to see how the different Mando tribes and clans mix together.
A great reaction to a great episode!

This Bo redemption arc is very good.
It will be the three of them Din / Bo / Grogu
As for Bo's "Boss Bitch" Katie does an awesome job with this.
Well, she IS the voice of Bitch Pudding...
I agree, can they just make Paz vizlas helmet one size bigger? Just one size…
Did you catch the "Bullock Canyon" nod to original Boba Fett actor Jeremy Bullock?
me too I Have not seen rebels yet. this is the way.
I want Maddie in a Bo-Katan cosplay now
Set up for what 3 spin offs? I am here for all of it!

Fuck yeah I love this amazing video ever for everybody 😊
Well, now there's fried seaweed for everybody.
This episode was great, next one the plot will be thicc, and I'm here for It!!

what no warhammer??? j/k i look forward to seeing this.
