Kevin Schmevin eh, i think mostly everyone involved were messed up/wrong to an extent, but her parents were far from being the monster, more like the catalyst. Her parents weren't saints for sure and def had a bad influence on her, but at the end of the day, Erin still chose to murder instead of seeking some other tame method like waiting till 18 so that she could have the freedom to leave. Lots of people in toxic households don't end up becoming monsterous killers, she had other choices, but instead she chose to destroy everyone's lives and in the process, her own. By this she looks more like the monster of this case.

I saw the Dr Phil episode about this case, apparently she also asked her ex boyfriend years prior to murder her family, the boyfriend didn't have a problem with her parents so I'm not so sure about her having to break up with Charlie being the motivation. She wanted them dead long before she met Charlie.
Edit: I commented before finishing the full video, so the ex boyfriend is mentioned in this video, I thought it was a boyfriend but apparently it was just a boy she kissed.

The instigating factor here is psychopathy. Being young and sex crazed is fairly normal, they simply find a secluded place and do it. No one took the dialog of killing her parents seriously because, while anger is virtually universal, killing them was, well, insane. There was an element of wanting to injure and kill the parents, and the brothers while being witnesses, were completely disregarded. The woman had zero empathy, zero judgment, zero regard of consequences, also obsessive, thinking and talking about it all the time. The mystery is the recruitment of the co-conspirators, where they all crazy? Was drugs involved?

No, no and no again. This is clearly the parents' fault, 100%. When Grande said "a girl kissed her so the parents pulled all three kids from school" tells you everything about what kind of people they are. These parents were bigots and religious extremists who drove their daughter to this.

Bobbi Johnson (the girlfriend of the second killer) got an extremely strict sentence. I think it was too harsh. They didn't want to involve her in the plan at first. She borrowed the car to her boyfriend without knowing the plan of the killing. She was nosy and didn't want to leave her boyfriend alone that night, so he finally agreed to take her with them. She found out about a plot by sitting in the car with two armed men and the mastermind manipulator. Imagine the peer pressure. What was she supposed to do? Get out of the car and call the police? But what if they decided to kill her too? She could be afraid for her own life. She didn't plan the crime, she didn't pull the trigger. Nevertheless, she got a crazy long sentence. Great analysis Dr. Grande. One thing crossed my mind. In many religious families gender roles can be quite strict and girls are often shamed for sexual desires a lot more than boys are. I've also found girls to be manipulative because a lot of times, girls are not taught to be direct, to say what they want, what they mean. I was taught that being direct was "un-ladylike." So in order to get what you want, you learn to manipulate, to go around what you want, to make it seem like it's the other person's idea. Most girls in Erin's situation would probably get pregnant but Erin probably didn't want the responsibility, which was why she had to get other people to do her dirty work for her.
