No they didn't asked anything specific to javascript .Most of the product based companies focus on core problem solving ability , rather then asking Trivia kinda questions
Can you please share how many rounds of interview u went through .In how many interviews were u asked about system design questions. I also am a java developer with 9 yrs of experience and preparing for interviews.So it would be of great help if you could share the details i asked.
