I find it very very intrusive when I’m home on vacation in a state that has legal mandates but yet 20 days later at work I’m fired for it on the federal level when a swab would show I’m sober last two days. Swab every 2 days while on duty I don’t care. I just want my privacy at home left alone that makes all the sense in the world. Then reinstate the 150ooo drivers who failed after a swab. My vote my way..
If It is switched to schedule 3 and prescribed by a doctor, how can any job say that it's not allowed as long as you're not under the influence during work hours? I dont see how that would be legal for any employer to fire their employees, even DOT drivers.
Could you elaborate on what you mean by becomes law around 6:30? You gave a end of Q1 time frame. It’s my understanding this hearing ends march 6th. Are you saying. The judge will have given his suggestion and the DEA have taken an official stance by the end of that month?
the judge has made comments that he wants to move the process along quickly. certainly no guarantee that he would rule that quickly but not out of the question
It's legal enough for me, I order my thca thru the post office and since it's 2018 farm bill is federal the federal post office has to ship it. Best time of my life, I live on TN where marijuana is illegal so I just use hemp, and it works. Been smoking for 30 years so I know it works just fine. Gave up my cdl so I can live the life I been dreaming of. Yall drive safe out there.
As a retired otr wide load driver Im just going to say it should never ever be legal for truck drivers to consume. There is zero need for it in the industry, just the facts. Anything capable of impairing driving should always remain illegal at the federal level. Now on that note, on a drivers off time I feel it’s perfectly fine to use. There are just too many irresponsible individuals on the roads these days to risk legalizing it for otr drivers. I hate to be that person, but I drove for 18 years I will never change my opinion on that. I only retired because of the amount of irresponsible drivers on the road today…sadly, also facts.
The drivers who are doing it don’t care if it’s legal or not, they’re going to do it anyways. Just like alcohol or anything else. Why penalize those who consume responsibly?
@ weed stays in your system up to 30 days possibly more. I would know I have severe back problems and smoke a lot. But even in casual smokers it slowly builds up in the body. That said who deems what is responsible and isn’t until limits are set in place to how much thc the body may have before being considered to too inebriated to drive? Im quite sure, even the casual smoker probably wont pass those legal limits in the body to be able to make a solid meaningful career of truck driving without ever being hit by a dui from weed. It’s just a matter of time, even for the drivers that enjoy smoking casually and drive. Its not worth introducing it to otr drivers for that reason alone. Protect our drivers, its ok only to smoke on your time off lol
@Eric-ge5vp unless they can come up with a breathalyzer equivalent that can detect recent use accurately like alcohol i don't see them letting people use on off duty. It's ridiculous that alcohol is ok and legal but like you said it stays in your system for so long it's hard to detect if you smoked last month or last night
@ Sadly tch stays in your system up to 30 days based on each individuals casual usage. They would have to have a breathalyzer thing as you stated and honestly with tch staying in the system that long it may be harder to set a toxication limit due to virtually no real studies on cannabis since its been illegal at the damn federal level so long. Plus Im retired but I do believe cdl are still federal licensing so yeah that may prohibit them indefinitely. Would have been nice during my flat bedding years and definitely welcomed when I was pulling wide loads… mids/tops for windmills. Ughh the stress and the work. Retired old n beat up, I smoke all day every day now. Anyhow very good points man. I may have also repeated you, if so sorry Im always good and medicated and try and make valid points, but also ramble a lot.
Easy way to get around this is just have your doctor prescribe Marinol I do not think they can tell the difference in a drug test and just get a note from the doctor saying it will not affect your driving
Nope! Our rights have been discriminated against. SHOW Drivers need to shut down and fight for their rights and many other things that they've been missing out on for years.. Pension retirement plans medical and many more.
Just remember, the white house can find cocaine and nothing will happen, nobody will be charged. Truckers should really start a non profit advocacy group or something. If every trucker that wanted this law to change simply refused to take loads until it was addressed, the law would change overnight.
Even if it got federally legalized tomorrow.dot will still restrict it from consumption. Nothing will change . You will still get drug tested for it and removed from your job if you test positive.
I have to take pain medication cuz I have rods in my back without the medicine my back really bothers me but I have to take drug test all the time for this medicine and they say I can't smoke marijuana but I can drink all the alcohol I want this is such a joke I should be able to smoke weed because it helps me in so many ways I mean I have been a smoker for years and years in this should not be the case marijuana should have been legal 20 years ago but they make such a big deal out of nothing these people are ridiculous it is so much better for you than alcohol but they'll do anything to keep alcohol legal so they can keep giving out DWIs there is a big push to make money anyway off alcohol that they can so that's why there's such a big push not to get marijuana legalized
I wish i been watching this for a while and i just dont understand why alcohol and cigarettes are legel but something that help ppl not just make it make sense
After Catholic extremists were added to the Supreme Court by Trump that support alcohol but are against marijuana, it seems like it will continue to be voted state by state. Even though millions use it illegally and less safely. Schedule 1 should be opioids, tobacco and alcohol. Marijuana should be Schedule 3 if not lower, with driving and age restrictions.

Employers that allow drivers spark up a doobie on a 10hr break are gunna be popular 😂
Only in my dreams bro
I been waiting for this I want my card back and be able to to do it on my home time
Only if it benefits the corporate elite.
God dang the rescheduling is a slow process 🥱
Switch from trucking to remodeling houses . It’s legal for me now.
This conversation has been going on for a decade plus. It wont become federally legal probably ever
I’m getting that feeling also
Thanks for the update!

If you don’t hold a CDL, but are deemed “safety sensitive” as a dispatcher will we still be tested for THC if it’s moved to under schedule 3 ?

Once it’s moved to schedule three, how a truck driver be able to smoke
saliva testing is the next update
@@EasyDOTPhysicals me and you gotta smoke one.

Thanks for the input. Any news on the swab test coming soon?
Waiting on lab certification
Do you think that military restrictions for it will cancel testing since it will be federally decreased?
I don’t see any testing changes outside of what I mentioned in my military testing update
CDL holders can't even get pain killers prescribed. Don't think marijuana will be ok to consume drivers

Only if Trump looks at it as a business opportunity for Wall Street
No chance Republicans and weed don't go together we will be lucky if they don't start screwing with the hemp laws to take away thca
will CDL drivers be able to use cannabis if it is a schedule 3 drug ?
Not likely
@ thank you for the reply, I really appreciate all the research you do. Thanks again

Trillions of dollars in debt surely federal legislation would help?
Beer and Booze are worse.
Because they have a tax base.
Pop Culture World celebration of this terrible drug addiction is a crime on humanity 😮😮😮😮
Only problem with legalization is it's going to make it way more expensive.
I could care less if it goes legal cause ill never stop growing my own regardless what the law says
Also, thanks for making the update😊.
Of course!
We can only hope but only if they o k banking and interstate commerce

Swab the cheeks two days not 30 days

this is correct

No problem 👍

Yaya
But alcohol doesn't have no benefits at all and should be illegal
I need this to go through so badly
Im a Republican, and they better get it done
At the very least it should be decriminalized.

It's been illegal since the 1930's but you wanna whine about Donald Trump? I don't think you need anymore drugs.
@@buschlight620reading comprehension obviously isn't your thing.
