Probably best to have a console connected so you can easily make changes without interruption. As long as you're on the same subnet of the Firewall or the management interface is routable, you can connect to the device via ssh or telnet. You can connect directly to the firewall with a crossover cable (still needs to be on same subnet).
Thanks for viewing. If you're referring to the TFTP Server IP, I have TFTPD installed on my desktop and the ASA management interface is on the same network.
