Thank you for promoting my hometown Atl. The Beltline was developed to use the railroad tracks that were no using used. New subbie.

Great video. I share you love of the Atlanta Beltline or what I call my 'happy place'. You can literally feel the energy from the people all around you. I find myself walking with a silly grin on my face. I can't help it, it's just fun being there.

I think this goes to show that good pedestrian/cycling infrastrucute can definitely work in American cities. I'm personally looking forward visiting Atlanta again someday and will be following the Beltline development into the future. Great video, keep up the good work.

FYI - the area you refer to as “Virginia Highlands” is “Virginia Highland” named after the intersection of Virginia Ave and North Highland Ave. Not even the natives get it right. Nice video!

Amazing video!!! So insightful and informative. I really hope more cities in the US adopt this revolutionary urban design. Keep it up!

The Beltline is eventually going to have light rail circling the city...one day. I wonder how they will do that and still keep it pedestrian friendly. Also, The Beltline is contractually obligated to build or secure a certain amount of affordable housing along its ROW. I'm not sure of the exact number but it is higher than the ratio the city requires in general. The Beltline has it's own TAD (Tax Allocation District) which allows it to gain tax revenue to put back into the project (way simplified description). I've lived here almost 30 years and it is amazing what Atlanta has done in that amount of time.

The Beltline portion of this video is nice, but it's really odd that in the little picture slideshow at the beginning you chose to highlight both a confederate monument and Stone Mountain. I'm hoping this was just an accident.
