I like that Hughie and his dad have similar powers and that their powers go with their personalities. Hughie doesn’t like fighting so he teleports, and his dad feels like he’s been looked through his whole life so he phases through people.
Regardless of how I initially felt about Hughie's storyline this season, the scenes with his pops were touching and heartbreaking. Simon Pegg and Jack Quaid delivered some awesome performances.
Top tier and emotional performance from Simon Pegg, also fun fact, Hughie’s dad is supposed to be based off the comic book version of Hughie so this episode was pretty much an interaction between the TV and comic book version of Hughie.
I think it more the other way around, simon pegg is actually who the comic hughie is modeled after, since he got too old for the role of hughie he is his father instead.
Cool channel, love the Anime content here. DB Z introduced me into the genre. I was so close to visiting Japan one point myself. I had experience with MoCap and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity to visit the place that inspired artists like Toriyama San. R.I.P. and movie like 'Akira' or 'Ghost in the Shell'.
Omg i had no idea that’s who that was! Any time he shows up i’m like “Man, this guy is so good at playing an unlikeable tech-bro movie director guy”. Can’t believe I never realized it was Bolin
0:42 None of them were innocent, though. That whole lab would've been mothballed decades ago if Homelander had been the last kid to pass through. They might not have had a hand in creating Homelander specifically, but who knows how many slightly-less-powerful monsters they created when they were "just doing their jobs."
Not the Vought Cinematic Universe! Animal Farm from hell was quite a horrific experience. I wonder if it will get in a Halloween maze this year. Shame about Hugies Dad.
I wondered the same thing. Since Homelander seems to want Cate and Sam in The Seven so I assumed Vought built and/or surgically attached a new arm to Cate
It was her LEFT arm that was blown off, she was wearing a dress with long sleeves and gloves. On the stage, she was shown only moving her RIGHT arm. So either she's wearing a prosthetic, or she has healing/regenerative powers like Kimiko or Vought figured out a way to regrow her arm via a supe like Gecko who regrows his limbs almost instantly. If it's from Gecko, that would be interesting technology for Stormfront if we find out she's not dead Afterall.
18:34 Finally someone saying THIS particular instance on its own isnt that bad because the guy had it coming and his victim happily accepted the help. Its just alot of reactors immediately acted like this part alone was concerning of Ryan when objectively he actually was helping that women get some payback with no strings. 19:11 Home girl on the right(Sam right?) Looked like she was digging the girl getting her revenge and had to do a quick glance on the other girls to see if she should be happy about it. 😂
Well, because "this incident on its own" is concerning for Ryan because it eases him into punishing people and pushes the "people are our toys" agenda that Homelander uses. Just say he deserved it, but don't act like it's not concerning for Ryan.
@@opsoo2229 punishing BAD people. As long as the people being punished are legit people deserving of the punishment and even better he allows victims to be the one to decide if a bad guy should be punished then where's the problem? The concern that Ryan COULD take it too far is valid but only time will tell if it's warranted or not but until then this moment right here was the right thing. It intrigues me how quick some reactors are to assume the worse from this alone even tho yes I understand Homelander influencing is responsible for that.
@DingoEnderZOE2 Sam may not of been digging it but possibly could have been fawning as trauma response. The girls posted an episode of the bear the other day that was an hour of nonstop anxiety. She did the same thing during all of episode’s high conflict scenes. Smiling as a coping response to attempt to deescalate or avoid conflict. Dani (I think? the middle girl) was text book freeze response and Morgan seemed to have a drive to “flee” response.

Hughie's powers also look like how A-Train zooms around so that can Hughie's way of reflecting the trauma from sustained from losing Robin to A-Train.
Hughies powers are the same as teddy stillwells.
@@baronn9809 No, teddy's powers are more constant and random.
@@MMAisTHEbestSPORT08 They weren't random. He was just weird. But they had the same power. Teleportation.

Simon Pegg is such a gem of a person and a GREAT actor!
Simon Pegg's acting was stellar. My favorite episode this season so far.

Homelander actually says patriots not A-Train.

RIP to the OG Hughie from the comics 🥲
And thus starts Hughie's marathon of getting traumatized.
I don't think two episodes constitutes a marathon.
@@almightygod2144three does
That started in S1 Ep1
@@gingerbeardedone3318 agreed, Hughie has been traumatized continuously since losing Robin
Um no it definitely started with robin
lmao the whole frenchie sheep part is cut out.

Simon Pegg needs an award for this episode.
@ 3:08 that was a cute little promo plug
We've seen MM has the ability to get a presidential pardon, so maybe that will help Frenchie
1:22 close enough, you have the right idea.
So wild hearing Bolin's voice as a creepo predator

I wonder what the deal with Starlight's powers is? Besides the creator trying to save money 😂😂.
