- The National Elections Quiz 2018 is a pan-India, inter school quiz competition on elections and electoral processes presented by the Election Commission of India. Aimed as an outreach initiative for empowering the young and future electors of the country, the NEQ journey began with the Intra-School Round before moving on to the District and State Levels covering an excess of 13.5 lakh students across the country from more than 38,000 schools. Left now, with 36 Champion teams- the best, from each State and Union Territory, NEQ brings to you this series of 7 episodes of Zonal Finals and the Grand Finale. The contest has a trophy of Rs. 1 Lakh for the National Champions, Rs 80,000 for the 1st Runners-up and Rs 60,000 for the 2nd Runners-up. Witness the tension, drama and the rollercoaster ride that is NEQ.
There are six teams and in the direct questions round, there are 20 questions. Which means that the firsf two teams get to answer four round of questions while the rest four teams had a chance to answer only three rounds. That is so unfair. How could such a obvious and grave mistake be made?

good show, n plz explain the answer in more detail .
IMPROVEMENTS NEEDED;
1) Question's end must be followed by some indications ( like 'GO' or 'OVER' ).
2) Displaying questions in English also.
3) Asking Region neutral questions;
Asking questions regarding home state makes the question easy for one team thus leading to involantary partiality.
Good effort Rajya Sabha TV. Hoping for quality programs like this in future.

The anchor have gd spirit of election
There is a rule for pressing the buzzer that if anyone pressed the buzzer before the question completes then he would loose five points, is unfair. The rule should be like -
1. Either, the team should be given another chance to press the buzzer after taking five points from them if they press the buzzer before question completes so that they can answer the question.
2. Or, in case they press the buzzer before time they should not be allowed only to answer.(No negative points)

Where do you get these questions. How did these students even prepared for such questions?
Some students of Delhi University's Colleges had prepared the question bank. The quiz master was also an accomplished quiz wizard.
Sir please ask question twice and arrange big screen to display the question for students and try to display question in English and give time at least 30 seconds for every question most of the students unable to understand that much Long questions

As far as I saw, each State team was selected after a rigourous selection process at District and State level. The best team at the State Level was sent to New Delhi.

Hello, as the idea behind the show is to spread awareness about Elections, Electoral process and history. it's important to make it understandable for both English and Hindi speaking viewers.
So that it can reach out to maximum people...
And I can ask u that why the whole program is in English language. My friend pl enjoy and learn from program and its for all over countrymen.

Its in english because the whole country uses english (officially or unofficially) for communication.
Hindi, though our national language, is not popular in south as in North.
My point is, using English is far better than using Hindi for the time being because of the bilingual nature of our country.
How to select students from states
These contestants don't have even basic knowledge of indian polity. How the hell you selected them at national level?? Even anchor looks frustrated.

He is late Vikram Joshi,who won the world quizzing championship in 2014 and only Indian to do so.he was suffering from cancer and is no more now.
