As soon as one accepts Jesus as Savior, they are 'baptized' by the Spirit. If you were born again 35 years ago, God gave you His Spirit at that time, and promised to never leave nor forsake you, (Hebrews 13:5-6). Perhaps, you have found newness or are reinvigorated but be careful what church you go to little lamb. It sounds like you may have found one that contains 'signs and wonders.' Be as wise as serpents, but as innocent as a dove, (Matthew 10:16). There is a new movement in some churches whereby they insist you must be baptized by the spirit, even after you have become a true child of God by being born again as in John 3. Or that true manifestation of having the Holy Spirit is only demonstrated through signs and wonders or the utterings of a church full of conflicting and chaotic tongue demonstrations with no interpretation. I too am going back to church after a long absence, let's pray that you and I find the one that greater reflects the Bible and not those of man's meanderings. We do have preachers like Him today. Thats not the problem. The problem is people are not hungry for God or the things of God. They lost their first love. Most Christians today are like spoiled kids they want mom and dad to do everything for them. Most Christians are the same way they want the pastor to do it all. The people in the Church dont want to pray no fasting and seek God let the pastor do it.. Fasting is a thing of the past. If the pastor cant bring what the Church wants they want to stay home. Christians are Lazys and its getting worse all the time. Shouldnt it stir people to think how close the coming of the Lord is? Why dont it. Because they dont believe he will come back any day maybe some day but not today, not next week, not next month, not next year. But some day. Eat, Drink and be marry. If they believed He is coming do you think they would lay out of Church? He's their savior but not their Lord. They dont want anyone to tell them its time to pray and fast. If it was up to most of the church people one service a week would be enough for them. No friend even a greater preach then david wouldnt help the Church today. They are not hunger for God or for the things of God. How many pastors open the doors for people to come in every day and pray for Church services and seek God. Very few. If the Pastors dont act like Jesus is coming forget about making the Church believe it. One pastor said he hadnt prayed in 2 years He said who has time to pray. He had time to do kingdom work but didnt have time to pray. He's going to Hell and dont know it. Same with a lot of Church people.
Because his messages are brought by the Spirit of God, the Teuth, when you hear Him you hear the heart of God. His Word is life no matter whether the messenger is alive or not.

One time I was traveling by bus from Texas to Idaho and we came to a small stop like in Wyoming & a bunch of people got off the bus. They were dressed like 70's flower children & some with robes. One girl stopped and spoke to me and said something like: We've found the One & he is with us. Come and see. Dude, I knew in a quick moment that this was a cult. I had been saved a few years... but I got to tell you there was some kind of powerful draw, some kind of spirit that was behind this group. I had to fight it off, because there was a pull to go with them. So yeah, I believe that many of those Scriptures are literal. They will come with a powerful draw behind them and they will be like in your face evangelizing you. I've seen it for myself & I don't get out much. The girl that spoke to me seemed peaceful and so kind and innocent, too. Man, you need the Holy Ghost & you don't want to be a little backslidden. And if your feeling a little lonely or empty, watch out!!!.. There's really a deceiving Spirit that is so powerful that you'd better get real familiar with the real thing: in the Word & prayer.

I absolutely love listening to Pastor Davids sermons. I want to hear a word from the bible that causes me to be convicted of sin in my life, not feel good messages that you can get from self help books. This is undiluted teaching of God that I find to be such a large helping of spiritual bread and I could listen to his messages every day

People ask me that same question but I always say....my only desire is to dwell in the house of the Lord God Almighty Jesus. I always seek the face of the Lord, his love and his mercies that endured for ever.
I only want to please the Lord God Almighty Jesus Jehovah Father and his son the Lord and honor him with my thoughts, feelings, actions and words.
I always ask the Lord God Almighty Jesus to help me in these areas and I thank him because the Lord Holy Spirit convicts my soul and spirit every time and, then, I quickly repent if I am say or doing something evil.
