David Wilkerson - Seeking the Face of God | Full Sermon
In Psalm 27, David beseeches God in an intense urgent prayer. He pleads in verse 7, “Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.” His prayer is focused on one desire, one ambition, something that has become all consuming for him: “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after” (27:4).
David is testifying, “I have one prayer, Lord, one request. It is my single most important goal in life, my constant prayer, the one thing I desire. And I will seek after it with all that’s within me. This one thing consumes me as my goal.”
What was this one thing that David desired above all else, the object he’d set his heart on obtaining? He tells us: “That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple” (27:4).
Make no mistake: David was no ascetic, shunning the outside world. He wasn’t a hermit, seeking to hide away in a lonely desert place. No, David was a passionate man of action. He was a great warrior, with huge throngs singing of his victories in battle. He was also passionate in his prayer and devotion, with a heart that yearned after God. And the Lord had blessed David with so many of the desires of his heart.
Indeed, David tasted everything a man could want in life. He had known riches and wealth, power and authority. He had received the respect, praises and adulation of men. God had given him Jerusalem as the capital for the kingdom and he was surrounded by devoted men who were willing to die for him.

David Wilkerson was the Founding Pastor of Times Square Church in New York City. He was called to New York in 1958 to minister to gang members and drug addicts, as told in the best-selling book, The Cross and the Switchblade.
In 1987, David Wilkerson returned to "the crossroads of the world" to establish Times Square Church. As a pastor of the church, he faithfully led this congregation, delivering powerful biblical messages that encourage righteous living and complete reliance on God.
David Wilkerson had a strong burden to encourage and strengthen pastors throughout the world. From 1999 to 2008, he traveled around the globe holding conferences for Christian ministers.

As soon as one accepts Jesus as Savior, they are 'baptized' by the Spirit. If you were born again 35 years ago, God gave you His Spirit at that time, and promised to never leave nor forsake you, (Hebrews 13:5-6). Perhaps, you have found newness or are reinvigorated but be careful what church you go to little lamb. It sounds like you may have found one that contains 'signs and wonders.' Be as wise as serpents, but as innocent as a dove, (Matthew 10:16). There is a new movement in some churches whereby they insist you must be baptized by the spirit, even after you have become a true child of God by being born again as in John 3. Or that true manifestation of having the Holy Spirit is only demonstrated through signs and wonders or the utterings of a church full of conflicting and chaotic tongue demonstrations with no interpretation. I too am going back to church after a long absence, let's pray that you and I find the one that greater reflects the Bible and not those of man's meanderings. Set your heart to the Lord, you can't be a taker of the world and be a servant of the Lord, renew your mind by the word of God ever hour of every day, stop listening to the lies of the world and surround yourself with the word of God, pray and fast

One time I was traveling by bus from Texas to Idaho and we came to a small stop like in Wyoming & a bunch of people got off the bus. They were dressed like 70's flower children & some with robes. One girl stopped and spoke to me and said something like: We've found the One & he is with us. Come and see. Dude, I knew in a quick moment that this was a cult. I had been saved a few years... but I got to tell you there was some kind of powerful draw, some kind of spirit that was behind this group. I had to fight it off, because there was a pull to go with them. So yeah, I believe that many of those Scriptures are literal. They will come with a powerful draw behind them and they will be like in your face evangelizing you. I've seen it for myself & I don't get out much. The girl that spoke to me seemed peaceful and so kind and innocent, too. Man, you need the Holy Ghost & you don't want to be a little backslidden. And if your feeling a little lonely or empty, watch out!!!.. There's really a deceiving Spirit that is so powerful that you'd better get real familiar with the real thing: in the Word & prayer.

Because his messages are brought by the Spirit of God, the Teuth, when you hear Him you hear the heart of God. His Word is life no matter whether the messenger is alive or not.

I absolutely love listening to Pastor Davids sermons. I want to hear a word from the bible that causes me to be convicted of sin in my life, not feel good messages that you can get from self help books. This is undiluted teaching of God that I find to be such a large helping of spiritual bread and I could listen to his messages every day

People ask me that same question but I always say....my only desire is to dwell in the house of the Lord God Almighty Jesus. I always seek the face of the Lord, his love and his mercies that endured for ever.
I only want to please the Lord God Almighty Jesus Jehovah Father and his son the Lord and honor him with my thoughts, feelings, actions and words.
I always ask the Lord God Almighty Jesus to help me in these areas and I thank him because the Lord Holy Spirit convicts my soul and spirit every time and, then, I quickly repent if I am say or doing something evil.
This is exactly where I'm at in life.
God through this man is helping me to draw closer to God through Jesus Christ. What is MOST intriguing is that he preach and goes to the scripture not what he thinks, but what God says through his word.
May God help me keep in Faith 🙏🙏🙏

When one tries to increase his knowledge by doing mental gymnastics over books without waiting upon God and looking to the guidance of His Holy Spirit, his soul is plainly in full swing. This will deplete his spiritual life. Because the fall of man was occasioned by seeking knowledge, God uses the foolishness of the cross to "destroy the wisdom of the wise.
