I want to see more Westerns like, Hell on Wheels. So much fantastic history of the 19th century West. The Lewis and Clark Trail, California Gold Rush, The Settling of the Oregon Territory and the Pacific Northwest. The Settling of California. The possibilities are endless. Bravo!, to AMC. I'm buying this series, and I hope to see new Western genres in the future from AMC.
You should give Longmire and Justified a try. They both take place in modern day, so they’re not exactly like Hell On Wheels, but they’re both really good shows and they have a similar Western feel to them.

I stumbled upon this series through my connection with Netflix...once I watched the first episode I was totally hooked and could not watch anything else until I saw every episode!...it took me a total of two straight days to watch all of it from start to finish....such a great piece of work from all the actors...being from the great state of Texas, I have a facination for the old west and its history to start with, and, only wish there were more series/movies on television from here on out.

Don’t know how I missed this series originally. Just randomly decided to watch it on Netflix. I was hooked before the first episode was over!

I love the characters of the show Cullen Bohannon is a perfect anti hero. You never now which side doc Durant ist on, he switches perfectly between good and bad guy But my favorite thing, is the character development of micky mcguiness. He came such a way beetween teh first season an the later seasons

I loved the show great story and history lesson. Interesting until the last episode. It shows what difficult time it was in the wild west. The building of the railroad.... Hard to survive at the time. So many great characters. Eva, Micky the Swede...all very good acting. Doc Durant I just loved the character so diverse and fascinating. Not boring for one moment.

The irony of so many westerns being filmed in the greater Calgary area and other tv/movies especially, shot in Vancouver,(I live here and the sets and studios in the area are abundant!), almost always disguised as the USA. Obviously, the marketplace dictates much of this, but I'd love to see the Canadian West get it's due justice, in terms of a quality, historical/fictional, 1900's setting.
First 2 seasons are great. Then they changed writers and I thought it went downhill. Cullen as a drunk, a burnout, a soldier that still wanted to believe, even though himself, god, and us as an audience all knew he was in the wrong
Just on season 4 and love this series. Why?Love the depiction of Cheyanne and the wild west and because the characters all have flaws in their lives. Unlike other movies where the lead characters are squeaky clean, the ones here all have made major mistakes causing innocent deaths and basically get away with it. One of my favorite series!
You know, after that Lion speech, I was totally ready for Durant to be set up as the villain of the series. I mean, he seemed the perfect type. But he really isn't.

compared to a lot of shows even on the premium channels like HBO, Starz, and Cinemax this series has superb acting.

What I like is that Anson isn't "ThE fAsTeSt GuN iN tHe WeSt" he's just a dude out for revenge and builds a railroad and that's really cool
