    Been playing paintball for about 12 years now, and when I was younger (12-13) the kids my age all had better guns than I did. My parents weren't that well off and I wasn't able to save enough money to buy a high end marker along with expensive higher end gear. It was my dream to have a high end paintball gun and be able to show off my paintball gun for once, now that I'm 24 I have a decent job/career and I'm able to finally make my dream become reality. My GEO 4 came in today and I couldn't be happier... I can finally say I did it.. not many things can compare to this feeling! what a blessing...

    We are at a stand still with paintball technology. Give it to pe for making markers that are very reliable. Unless breakthrough happens in a self filling tank then we are here at the top. Only thing to do is to play. I see your points. We're in this weird area.

    I love your thorough and honest reviews. That’s exactly how I’ve felt about PE over the last 10 years…CONFUSED. The naming convention changed. The changes in milling were subtle. You never knew how each marker fell in the product lineup. Great guns. Weird pedigree chart.

    I understand your points , I bought the cs2 pro over the geo 4 last year because I live in the midwest and know the gamma core pro wont stick in cold weather. I just remember old 3.5 and cs1s having bolt stick in the past. But overall, I can see why most would buy a geo 4 to save money. But also l own a lv1.6 because I already owned a cs2 and other spool valves and wanted a poppet to use on occasions, and being an old school player and always wanting a ego/lv I just went for it. In the end , I just like the simplicity and reliability of plant eclipse and see me using my cs2 pro and lv1.6 for years to come ,unless some amazing paintball technology comes out.

    The best way to understand is the cs2 will cycle with penut butter with lube(madman paintball if you want to watch this done) and the iv core probably not a good idea. The cs2 is lower pressure(at this low operating psi ite kind of irrelivent) and can run a much frame. So if your pocjeta are deep get a few. If not, I dont know why you would lube with peanut butter so im going to guess you wont. Just get a geo4 and spend your $400 on a emek

    The CS1, 1.5, and Geo 4 are literally the EXACT same gun internally. Initially shooting a 170r and being introduced to the gamma line of markers, I personally believe Planet Eclipse has nearly reached the pinnacle of reliability when it comes to bolt systems. I then went onto the higher end and purchased a luxe x and while it shoots amazing and can go on multiple weekends without maintenance (lube the bolt maybe after 3 full weekends), I still missed the way Eclipse markers shot. When I saw the Geo 4 release, I waited for more reviews before I jumped onto that $1k price tag again but then I held both my friend's Geo 4 and CS1.5. While both shoot the same with the IV Core and SFR and all, I ended up saving that extra paint money and grabbed the CS1.5. Who knows, maybe I'll grab another IV core with the Geo 4 in the future, marker still looks sick. So thankful you came out with a review for this though.

    Great video, Brad. All the upgrades and options with the GEO4 seem kinda pointless to me, so I went all in on the CS2 Pro HK Alien edition. It's awesome! Has all the reliability you would expect for the price and none of the stuff you don't need. Just play with it right out of the box. The more little tuning and adjustment features tend to cause more problems and cost you in the end. Although I believe it won't happen most of the time with PE products. One thing, you were showing the GEO the whole time you were talking about the CS2. I really don't see the GEO4 as better than the CS2, I actually watched your videos about the CS2 and how much you loved it and didn't have anything negative to say about it. It's funny, after watching up until the end of this video, based on what you were saying, I really thought you were gonna say it's not better than the CS2, but then you went with the price difference. I understand that holds a lot of people back from playing and buying high end guns, but I remember you saying the feel of the CS2 is in its own class because the tolerances are so great (the overall feel category). I'm not trying to call you out or anything, but I just feel like you kind of dogged the CS2 because you're not getting what you pay for with the price, but before you basically said you're getting what you pay for so I just thought that was kinda unfair to say that at the end.

      I just sold my CS2 Pro and picked up a Geo 4. I feel like they could price the geo above the CS2 and it would sell. The Geo 4 honestly feels like a higher end product especially in the shot feel. I would definitely give it a go if you get the chance, I regret purchasing the CS2 initially after owning the Geo 4 for even just a few weeks. Price was no factor for me as I was solely looking for the better product and after owning both I have to vouch for the Geo.

    Incredibly confusing is right, I am in the market for a top performing marker and have no idea what to do. The LV2 just came out but the grip frame feels too big in my hand compared to the 1.6 and geo4. Like you mention, the Geo4 is probably the one I will go with. But why does it have to be so confusing, does Planet Eclipse have big things coming soon?

The sound signature isn't a geo, the shot quality is not as good as the 3.5 and it is just uncomfortable in my hands. Traded it for a LV1.6 yesterday. Is the SFR like the Dwell adjustment on spool valve guns?

    • @axledog7297
      @axledog7297 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No. Dwell time = the amount of time the solenoid is charged, which ultimately determines how long the bolt is in the forward position during the cycle. The SFR is exactly what it says - it restricts the exhaust flow rate from the solenoid. In the CS1/Geo 4 arrangement, the solenoid acts as an air sear and has to dump a small volume of air to allow the shot chamber to push the bolt forward. The rate at which that volume of air holding the bolt back is vented controls how quickly the bolt accelerates.

    • @PropDusting
      @PropDusting 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @axledog7297
      @axledog7297 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PropDusting Not really.
      Pressure x surface area = force. Adjusting the regulator *within it's working range* has very little effect on the bolt's acceleration profile. The force in which the bolt is driven forward is what you're adjusting so, realistically, adjusting the LPR is pretty pointless in most cases, which continues to be highly misunderstood.
      The SFR provides a far more effective method of control via flow restriction. The LV is a good example - set the LPR to 75-85 psi for a strong, reliable cycle and use the SFRs as the tuning apparatus. If you watch Brad's recent LV1.6 video, he incorrectly mentions the LPR as the reason the LV platform is so "tuneable", which couldn't be further from the truth. Contrary to popular belief, that's not the point of an LPR, but it is the point of the SFRs.
