***NOTES*** Many are a little annoyed the video is almost 3 minutes instead of 2. When I first gathered all the footage, it was indeed about 2 minutes in tips (2:16 to be exact). However, during the post production process I had to add an intro/outro, and transitions between each hero class to give my video a little more style and depth which stretched the video a little longer, that's all. It was never my intention to clickbait anyone! Also, many people are pointing out my Reaper tip is wrong and that he can't animation cancel. The point of the tip isn't that animation cancelling makes you reload faster - it's to cancel the reload with a melee attack to fill "dead time." In other words, it's to fill the reload time with an action (melee) that could potentially hit someone and win you a duel. It's free damage! (Imagine a scenario where you are 1v1'ing someone and you had to reload. Suddenly, a tracer blinks by with 20 hp, and since you have mastered melee cancelling your reload animation, you accidentally smack her forehead and get an unexpected kill that secures your final placement game in which you place at 1200 SR and uninstall the game.)
A bit late but, I love how short your videos are, every other overwatch channel stretches their videos to 10 min with useless information. I hope you continue to make videos :)
Zoova Ado lol, there is no rule what you should say, so if someone would choose to say like "ultim" or something that'd be fine, as long it was understandable.
It doesn't change the fact that Ulti is two syllables for the vocal reduction of a three syllable word, and it does not include the second syllable of that word, instead only a letter of it. "ie" is not the sound made in ultimate. So it is weird.
for the Ana tip, here's to perfect it: First off, you don't need the melee, 1 shot from her rifle will do 80 DMG + 60 from the grenade, making a combined of 220 HP, unless it's reaper and has already used wraith form, use melee. Also, stand BEHIND the slept opponent, aka behind their head, people like genji will have enough time to deflect any damage after woken up.
you melee because if you're first shot doesn't get the full 80 damage because you will be refreshing the Dot with the second shot, so the melee is safety measures and is good to practice it that way to make sure you secure the kills
Yeah, 1) he didn't save it was useful (didn't claim that once) he said "to fill dead time". 2) You're Reaper.. why the fuck WOULDN'T you be within melee range or close to it???
Actually the proper way to do the sleep combo as ana is to go behind the enemy player after you've slept him. Then do left click, nade left click. If you stand in front of them, you give them a chance to use an ability after your nade (they might get the time to do it), for example genji can deflect your left click, Ana can sleep you. If you however stand behind them, they have to make a 180 degrees turn and then use their ability - they won't have enough time to do all of that.
You're right, ideally if you're able to, you should definitely perform the combo behind the enemy to really maximize the kill potential. Sometimes I end up sleep darting a target somewhat far away, and I don't have the time to walk behind them to combo, so I usually end up performing it in front of them as quick as I can so I can return to healing my team. Thanks for the feedback!
KarQ How exactly do u cancel genji's sword slash animation and still do the damage. (Do u start the slash and then swift strike - or do u just swift strike and it does the damage of a sword slash?) (also, if it is the 1st one, do u have to be within sword slash range to get the sword slash damage, or do u sword slash whatever u swift strike through?)
Dat Boi No, even though you cancel the animation, it still won't allow you to fire right away. There's a comparison with a timer on TH-cam. Check it out.
brundain1 That's correct but it is not the point of the tip in the video. The tip states that you'll fill dead time, referring to saving time on the reload, which is incorrect.
iiDefied no, fill the dead time meaning "do something in the time you normally cant". And i was technically correcting your reply to the other guy because you said it isnt more dps
Stretch it to full 3 minutes, take your time, speak up a little. Maybe put time stamps in the description if people wanna find a certain tip quicker. Nice video overall!
Goldy what do you mean you meant 5? Also I wasn't being clear, I meant it was 3 mins long so what's the point of putting time stamps in the description.
Soilder can also pull off a rocket jump Reload animation cancel can backfire. Junkrats tire also makes less noise when its in the air. Roadhogs hook trick can off your aim, so be sure to adjust accordingly. great work overall .3.b
It's mystifying how many if not most symmetras plant their turrets so close to each other. Make them deadly by placing the so wide apart they will be forced to choose, not easily sweep them up by simply looking in the ONE general direction.
Hey KarQ. I just found your content and watched your overwatch videos. They are extremely helpful and pertinent, well edited and fun to watch. Subscribed :p. In terms of short videos, as long as they are to the point like this one was they are great. Otherwise, it might seem like a waste of time to watch or carry less impact than longer videos. But more important than that, keep the content coming!
Great video, and great content overall! I like your way of making short videos with really good info. Congratz, of all the overwatch youtubers you're the first one I subscribble to ;)
One additional tip for ana : you can cancel your reload animation (same as reaper). This is most effective when you cancel both the charge reload time and the global reload time (because you Ana reloads after each shot). I have not accuratly measured it, but I'm pretty sure that doing a melee attack will reduce the reload time in that particular case (when you cancel both animations). This works on several other champions, most importantly I'd say are Roadhog, and Genji (although you need to be really accurate). Any ability cancels the reload animation, so it can be really useful to know when your weapon is full recharged to be able to use your abillities effectivly (without having to reload again afterwards).
Reaper doesn't have an animation cancel, it's even been proven to actually take a few frames longer unless you time it perfectly, this is even clearly seen in your video, both screens are able to shoot again at the EXACT same time, all you get out of it is a little melee damage if you're right on the target
It cancels the animation, not the actual reload time. "Animation cancel" is an appropriate term. L-cancel or lag cancel would be more like something describing him being able to shoot more rapidly.
you get my vote for best OW content creator right now. Some guy said that he would've preferred more time in between scenes (meaning a longer video), but I disagree with that sentiment as I think the video is meant to be viewed with your finger on the left-arrow key (for quick ~5 second rewinds). You could try mentioning/suggesting that in future videos that adopt the same high-information low-screentime format as there are some people living under rocks out there that don't realize the utility of the left arrow key. I think the longer a video is, the more unlikely someone is to watch it (if you were to send it to a friend that was new to OW, for example)
Appreciate the serious feedback! That was the idea - I studied a bit of psychology in university and touched on attention span since the mobile revolution began. There's a time and place for those longer styles, and that's usually for creators who have already built a fan/subscriber base as their audience is more likely to watch full/longer videos since they're already invested in them. Since I only started last week, I've gotta build a fan base from bottom up and the best way (I think) to get my foot in the door is to put out fast paced content that does not beat around the bush to at least capture initial interest.
Sombra can also melee her reload once the clip is in the gun so she doesnt need to pull back that level. She can also skip the 2 second start up time of her sleath by translocating .
0:41 - Sombra Uhm.. As far as i know, you can press LSHIFT - Invisable and E - Translocater (- second active, when jumping TO the translocater) at the same time to animation cancel the invis - ability
The animation cancel with reaper won't save time, it may seem as though, but there is a delay between the melee and when you can shoot again. Only cancel if you need to melee during the animation
Zenyatta has an animation cancel. You can avoid charge shot cooldown if you melee before or as the last projectile is fired. It only makes a difference at full charge so you don't have to do it for one, two, or three bursts.
Great video, and awesome tips. Some are so simple, but I just had no idea. Soldier 76 utli reload is helpful, because I always try to reload before I ulti thinking I need a full clip. Now I can just ulti and wreck face.
I figured out the 'proper execution' for Ana the moment she was on the PTR. It triggers me to no end when every Ana I see *doesn't* know it, either using their grenade first, or being too scared to try and take the fight. God bless this education
The tips where meh some of them I already knew them others where really situational and other were really good but the transition ideas were AMAZING. Good job on the transitions.
I feel like for the mercy one that the beam will go through walls for 3 seconds before disconnecting which helps heal someone if your being focused or something along those lines
I did - This was also like my 3rd video so I was still getting used to Sony Vegas and the editing process. My gf recently purchased a subscription for Adobe Premiere for me so be on the lookout for even higher production quality :D
#11 MEI 1. You can press 'E' again while your wall is up to put it down quickly and reset the cooldown faster. I see a lot of meis that do bad walls and leave their teammates to die on the other side. 2. You can boost people and yourself with your walls to better reach spots and surprise the enemy, flank or get on the point faster. Boosting a Torbjorn turret or bastion in Anubis is a good exemple. 3. (im not sure with this one) Cryo freeze can block LOS and also save teammates if they stay behind your cover. Say goodbye to D.Va selfdestruct and High noon!
The animation cancel on Reapers reload does not change anything. It just seems alot faster but it isn't. Your comparison even shows that there is no advantage. If you're close to an enemy and need that extra dmg - that's the only time you should do it ;)
You're right, it doesn't change anything at all - which is why I explained that it helps fill "dead time." Since the timing doesn't change, it can be quite useful to get used to it because it allows you to add in another action/free melee attack with no downside. You never know, you might unexpectedly smack an invisible Sombra! Thanks for the feedback though :)
Don't think you need to wait as mercy for the reload. Every hero that I know of who has 2 weapons (eg. bastion, torb) reloads when they switch automatically.
Bastion's automatically reloads, but Torb and Mercy need to wait their respective reload times with their other weapon out to have it reload automatically. Mercy's gun takes 1 second to reload, so as long as you have your healing staff out for at least one full second, her gun will be reloaded the next time you switch to it. Torb's is 2 seconds. Thanks for the comment friend :)
Another Symmetra trick! You can put turrets on the glass of a vending machine. Break the glass and they will not have an outline for either team, making them nearly impossible to see. Best done on Hanamura!
Great tips, but I already knew all of them! I will say that most of these were one of the last I learned for the hero. (I've played a lot and am in an active community btw. Don't feel bad.)
No clickbait, professional-looking editing, actually useful tips, AND no ads every 3rd of the vid? Subscribed in a heartbeat.
Captain Chaos just watch him to this as soon as he gets popular
Captain Chaos He couldn't do ads anyway the videos isn't 10 minutes long
lmao u don't know how TH-cam works
what is ads
it high hiiiiiiiiiiii noon

honestly, i really enjoyed it ^_^
Was just experimenting with this idea and seeing how my audience likes it. Thanks for the feedback! Will keep that in mind
I liked it, good transitions. Simple, but informative.
A bit late but,
I love how short your videos are, every other overwatch channel stretches their videos to 10 min with useless information. I hope you continue to make videos :)
I like this one.
I always found it weird when people say "ultie" instead of "ult"
jimmy estrada ulti-mate
Milosz Krawczyk that makes more sense
Milosz Krawczyk no because ultimate has 3 syllables so making it short would just but ult

Nathan Cox that's exactly what he said. He did shoot, nade, shoot, melee. The melee is at the end if you need it or not
you melee because if you're first shot doesn't get the full 80 damage because you will be refreshing the Dot with the second shot, so the melee is safety measures and is good to practice it that way to make sure you secure the kills
dmg isnt refreshed it is stacked, i tested it against bots
Ah, the more ya know D:
80+60 is 140 right? Idk
Nice video, bro
Thank you my friend
Andrew JRT is a good youtuber
KarQ hi I have a question you should answer
Quality
Keys to success
LOL
KarQ the animation cancel doesn't help reload on reaper if you see they shoot at the same time
Chris tew sands it so he still does damage
Quality content from a quality dude
Quality comment from a quality guy
Reload cancelling on reaper isn't any faster. However, it can deal some extra damage at very close range
Yo Its Ya Boy Skinny Gabe - He said it fills in dead time, basically explaining what you just stated.
The point of animation cancelling is to be able to fire faster. If it takes the same time then it's useless.
+THEPELADOMASTER no, if it takes the same time, it adds 30 damage to your overall dealt damage (if near enough).
Goldy But you have to be within melee range. It's useless otherwise
Yeah, 1) he didn't save it was useful (didn't claim that once) he said "to fill dead time". 2) You're Reaper.. why the fuck WOULDN'T you be within melee range or close to it???
In a world of mostly 10minute + videos, this was nice and to the point. Do more.
Thanks my friend. Will do
Great video. Tips were better than many of these 15 minute ones from other channels.
I can see this channel growing. It's high of quality, keep up the good work
Actually the proper way to do the sleep combo as ana is to go behind the enemy player after you've slept him.

Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah, you're right, if you sleep someone far away, it's a bit different.
Thanks ! Didnt know the Reinhardt one, but I never play Reinhardt so thanks :D
Glad you learned something!
I'm a Reinhardt main and I didn't know that one. I'm going to use it more often.
Animation cancel for reaper reload doesn't actually save you time.
Dat Boi No, even though you cancel the animation, it still won't allow you to fire right away. There's a comparison with a timer on TH-cam. Check it out.
But the 30 damage that comes with a melee doesn't happen if you don't melee, so yes, it does increase DPS
brundain1 That's correct but it is not the point of the tip in the video. The tip states that you'll fill dead time, referring to saving time on the reload, which is incorrect.
iiDefied no, fill the dead time meaning "do something in the time you normally cant". And i was technically correcting your reply to the other guy because you said it isnt more dps
brundain1 Okay.
Very good content. You deserve more subs
Thanks my dude. Just started Overwatch content last week so I'm growing my subscribers organically from zero. We'll see how far this can go :)
Loved it, awesome. Another top tier Overwatch channel. Bell subbed
Thanks for the support :)
Stretch it to full 3 minutes, take your time, speak up a little. Maybe put time stamps in the description if people wanna find a certain tip quicker. Nice video overall!
Goldy it's 3 mins long...
+TurnipRadish I meant to say 5, oops! :/
Goldy what do you mean you meant 5? Also I wasn't being clear, I meant it was 3 mins long so what's the point of putting time stamps in the description.
'take your time and speak up a little' unnecessary patronizing comments tbh, the guy was fine.
Also, the video is only three minutes long, it'd be pointless putting 27 time stamps in the description
Soilder can also pull off a rocket jump
Reload animation cancel can backfire.
Junkrats tire also makes less noise when its in the air.
Roadhogs hook trick can off your aim, so be sure to adjust accordingly.
great work overall .3.b
bro this video is amazing, great work, keep it up proud of you
also when that beat matched up with genji animation oooh god 10/10
Good tips and the transition between the heroes and different classes (tank, offense, etc) was really clean! 👌
It was so satisfying to watch the slashes from Genjis highlight intro to perfectly match the dings from the music. Nice timing!
Usual videos like this would be around 15 minutes long and barely get to the point. I like this guy.
It's mystifying how many if not most symmetras plant their turrets so close to each other. Make them deadly by placing the so wide apart they will be forced to choose, not easily sweep them up by simply looking in the ONE general direction.

Great video, and great content overall! I like your way of making short videos with really good info.
Congratz, of all the overwatch youtubers you're the first one I subscribble to ;)
Appreciate it Mad Bell!
Perfect video dude!
I was half-expecting the Soldier one to be 'Don't Ge hooked'
*get
it should have been the flank helix jump on dorado that bazza can never do
Bazzzzzzzzzzzzaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I love the transitions from the types of heroes
Now that is the perfect length for a video! Great job!
I just found my second favorite overwatch channel! I like your voice and tips, and the music timing is great
would love to see more of these every now and then :) like most people said: quality video. subbed.
One additional tip for ana : you can cancel your reload animation (same as reaper). Dark Embrace that is the point of it, it's not meant to reload faster.
Then don't call it an "animation cancel" cause it isn't lmao

Dark Embrace Animation cancel means the melee cuts the reload animation. It doesnt mean you can shoot faster

When I watched the vid and the way you talked and stuff, I assumed u had at least a few hundred k subs. U deserve them keep up the work
KarQ pls make videos longer and keep up the good work !
amazing short and informative content with nice video editing. keep it up man!!!
Sombra can also melee her reload once the clip is in the gun so she doesnt need to pull back that level. She can also skip the 2 second start up time of her sleath by translocating .
Second tip is super helpful.
0:41 - Sombra
Uhm.. As far as i know, you can press LSHIFT - Invisable and E - Translocater (- second active, when jumping TO the translocater) at the same time to animation cancel the invis - ability
I love your voice. So calm and relaxing, keep up the good work
That Lucio one was actually super useful thanks!
DUDE you deserve wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more subs!!!! THIS VIDEO IS AWESOME THANK YOU!!
Thanks man, just started last week so I'm hoping to grow my sub count each and every video I put out
***** DUDE this is awesome for your first week NICE!!
The animation cancel with reaper won't save time, it may seem as though, but there is a delay between the melee and when you can shoot again. Only cancel if you need to melee during the animation
This was actually more advanced than i thought.
I know most of these tips, but you are awesome anyway mate, keep up the good work.
high quality content.
Awesome, thanks for watching still!
Conejo :V' yeah as an experience player I knew most of these but still learned a couple so not useless
This is so much better than having a 20 minite video over 1 little trick and hearing the whole presentation dialogue 4 times throughout the video
i like fast paced videos
Thanks for the feedback James!
I like the tips as some are very useful! keep em coming!
You're content is really great, keep up the good work. You've just earned a sub :)
Man I love a video that gets to the point
DUDE I loved this video! Just subbed gr8 content
Zenyatta has an animation cancel. You can avoid charge shot cooldown if you melee before or as the last projectile is fired. It only makes a difference at full charge so you don't have to do it for one, two, or three bursts.
I love the connection you made between the classes it was cool
Keep em coming, subscribed :))
Great video, and awesome tips. Some are so simple, but I just had no idea. Soldier 76 utli reload is helpful, because I always try to reload before I ulti thinking I need a full clip. Now I can just ulti and wreck face.
Glad you learned something new then :)
All these vids are awesome, I will gladly watch more quick tip vids.
Were*
Awesome video man! I learned something new!
Shitttt you only have 10k subs! The production quality on this made me think you had 100k at least. subbed
Thanks for the tips! I never thought you could get those kinds of flanks!
Awesome content, subbed!!
love how short and concise it is. that was one reason why I decided to click this video!
Geez these transitions are amazing
I feel like for the mercy one that the beam will go through walls for 3 seconds before disconnecting which helps heal someone if your being focused or something along those lines
This was really useful actually thanks
I thought this was great, keep them coming!
Very nice video! Didn't know several of these.
The thing with putting your Turret close to spawn as Torb to get ult charge is also a good idea for Symmetra.
Actually 3 minutes but I'll forgive that because the quality of this was amazing. Keep it up
This was really well done nice job
Really well made love the video
You spent a considerable amount of time editing this video!
I did - This was also like my 3rd video so I was still getting used to Sony Vegas and the editing process. My gf recently purchased a subscription for Adobe Premiere for me so be on the lookout for even higher production quality :D
as a first impression I'd say you did really well learned and comfremed some things as well subscribed
Love the quick tips!
Great video! I learned so much!
#11 MEI
You've earned yourself a subscriber :3
u can also cancel reload with d.va (out of the mech) , tracer, torbjorn, ect
Thanks. I needed to learn how to put up better symmetra turrets
didn't know that one about Rein, thanks!
Loved the Efficiency of the video
Fantastic transition between hero groups
Like this video. Learnt a few things i didn't know before
I love how the first hero of the next category is in the last clip of each
The animation cancel on Reapers reload does not change anything.
That timed Genji-slashing intro though.
So much detail in your vids
These videos are very useful. Thanks.
those transitions are god tier
Don't think you need to wait as mercy for the reload. Every hero that I know of who has 2 weapons (eg. bastion, torb) reloads when they switch automatically.
Bastion's automatically reloads, but Torb and Mercy need to wait their respective reload times with their other weapon out to have it reload automatically. Mercy's gun takes 1 second to reload, so as long as you have your healing staff out for at least one full second, her gun will be reloaded the next time you switch to it. Torb's is 2 seconds. Thanks for the comment friend :)
THANKS SO MUCH MAN. I always wondered how people did the zarya grenade jump
OFFICIAL SpyMaster123 rocketjump*
Another Symmetra trick!
You can put turrets on the glass of a vending machine. Break the glass and they will not have an outline for either team, making them nearly impossible to see. Best done on Hanamura!
Can we talk about how beautifully the genji intro synced with the music?
I thoroughly enjoyed this video even though I am watching it in 2018 and 4 new heroes have been added to the game since the time of this upload
Another tip for roadhog is in the hook animation you can hold left click to get a shot off the first frame it's done.
91 subs no videos? Whats left-click, The close-range or long-range?
King Sorah close range
Great tips, but I already knew all of them! I will say that most of these were one of the last I learned for the hero. (I've played a lot and am in an active community btw. Don't feel bad.)
I'm still grateful you watched the entire video even though you knew all of them. Appreciate it my friend
Nice Content I subbed
I knew almost all of these but it was still a good vid.
