Reminds me of how, at school in Music class, on a certain day of the week we would play "Drummers & Dragons," and it was pretty silly, one example being how I, Trogdor the Burninator, played my theme song that was so awesome it got the goblins to unionize against their Goblin Queen and want to do their own things instead of what the queen wants. They ended up forming a cheese business.

You missed the other half of the scuba vampire post, wherein someone points out that WE DON'T KNOW what's in the deep ocean, and thus leads to the vampires sprinting back out of the water essentially going "nope, do NOT go down there". That's an old tumblr post chain.

I had a character made it an hobby to collect, crush into a fine dust and store bones in a bag of holding. We got a scroll of resurrection because the DM was worried one of us might die against the bbeg. Instead of reviving somebody with it I started the final battle by dumping out about 300 pounds worth of bone dust from the bag of holding then using the scroll of resurrection on the pile creating a amalgamation of like 30 goblins a dragon and a bunch of other stuff. The bbeg died about halfway through the battle and phase 2 started with the amalgamation absorbing the bbeg's body and soul so now we had something about 3 times worse than the bbeg to fight

Wouldn't Scuba Vampires be impossible, because technically the Ocean is running water? Alternatively, Cinderbricking a Vampire's feet and throwing them into the ocean is a pretty neat Vampire Society Jail system. "Go down there and think about what you did" is really potent if you can't cross the water running all around you, so you have to wait there until someone fishes you out.

Kinda wanna add something to this. I was playing a variant human ranger in a big ol one piece dnd and i had a dragon companion. one of my team members was a giant, and in the middle of fighting a giant snake, after beating it, he went unga bunga and ate it's heart. i thought that was pretty cool. Since i didnt have a devil fruit or anything i wasnt exactly the strongest on the team but i kinda wanted to test my luck. so at some random festival there was this poison frog armor, which had a poison gland attached to it giving it the ability to be MORE resistant to poison. i was kinda resistant to poison because backstory. The following convo went
Me: "can i eat the poison gland?"
    DM: "....what?"
Me: "Im kinda resistant to poison, maybe ill get more resistance to poison if i just eat it. or cool poison powers."
    DM:" DC 19 con save"
Rolled a 20, and was able to secrete poison from my hands. helped a LOT in impel down (not really, almost got TPK'd but thats another story)

1:05 the Oddysee does this great, Oddyseus asks his crew (or whats left of the crew anyway) to bind him to the mast so he can listen to the Mermaids (slight difference to siren i think, i think Sirens just straight up fight you and scream at you, and Mermaids are the singing ones but i could be wrong.) about the one thing he wants most, wich is knowing how to get home. And so they tell him (i dont know how they know but,...) and he cant go to them cause he is stuck. Now i think of it the Mermaids shouldve promised him that theyd tell him if he comes to them, wich is what they do for other things too, like with pasta they dont tell you about pasta, they say they have it so you should get some. Anyways, its a fun take on the Siren-Mermaid trope imo.

The most stupidly silly thing I’ve done recently in D&D is probably casting levitate on a big rock, putting some pitons on it and then using it as a big balloon equivalent in order to get down through the floors of a run down tower.
It is also worth noting that my character is a wizard with an 8 in strength and that when she was doing this, she had like 4+ levels of exhaustion, 2 spell slots left except for the one used to cast levitate on the rock and that she doesn’t have feather fall in her spellbook. Nothing about this situation was in her favour and it was a really really stupid thing to do, but luckily she survived and I’m glad I did it because it was funny

I'm gonna have to point out that cowboy is not a warrior class. Like, in spite of what pop culture likes to tell us, some weren't even armed because it wasn't really a particularily well-paid job and guns and munitions weren't cheap and they had to own a horse which already was costly.
We are talking about cattle herders who may or may not have carried some weapons in order to protect themselves or their herd from wild animals, bandits and during certain times attacks from native tribes.
Not sure what kind of class a cowboy would really belong to, but it wouldn't be primarily combat related.
On the same note: Whilst the samurai class did still exist in the 19th century, their days of being a warrior elite lied mostly behind them and most of them were trained in administrative roles instead and wouldn't have seen combat for their entire life.

In a recent game, we made it to the end of a dungeon and found the necromancer that had taken it over. He did the big spiel of how we just needed to stop and look at things his way, he was going to change the world, etc. My character was a lawful neutral Cleric whose god despised necromancy, and he was a religious zealot so he took that very seriously. I explained to the necromancer that I couldn't follow his way, but offered my hand before we had to begin the unfortunate business. DM made a roll, got a look on his face, then the necromancer went to shake the Cleric's hand. The Cleric attempted to use Death Touch, which didn't work (didn't figure it would), and then I asked if I could grapple.
We spent the entire fight with the Cleric holding the necromancer's hand in a death grip, winning every grapple check and then using his other hand to beat the guy in the head with a warhammer. The necromancer never even got off an attack, because he failed his concentration checks to cast spells.

One of my players played a sorcerer who Definitely Wasn't A Necromancer Guys! Hilarious thing, once he gained the Detect Evil spell and discovered that Evil is not only a metaphysical quality (rather than a philosophical theory) but ALSO a *quantifiable* quality, he immediately cast it into a mirror. Horrified at how *Not Neutral* he was, he panicked, and tried to think of the most Good thing possible to do could be, determined to do that as much as possible. Because he didn't want to be evil! He just liked to recycle!
He decided that the Most Good action is to build orphanages. So every time he got access to an unalive body that he didn't Need Right Now, he would raise it anyway and give it the command Build Orphanages. The random encounter table had an ever-increasing chance of coming across a horde of zombies and skeletons wandering across the countryside, building structures labeled "Orfenij". We all joked that he was "running on a treadmill away from his alignment".

My partner: *buys me Monsters of the Multiverse for my birthday*
Me: *notices that Changelings are listed as 'Fey' instead of 'Humanoid'... idea happens... I text my partner, the DM:*
"Hey, if Changelings are classified as Fey in DnD, would you allow a Changeling PC to use the same kind of magical antics that Fey traditionally are known for?"
My partner: *doesn't text back for awhile, presumably to consult the relevant handbooks, then... 15 minutes later:*
"There's nothing that explicitly says they *can't,* so if it falls within the canon lore and what is widely accepted, I don't see why they couldn't do that, so long as you, the player, are clever enough to pull it off with the right words."
Me, grinning: "Sooo, if my Changeling went up to a real Drow and asked 'May I have your *bloodline?'* with the implication of simply asking for a record of their heritage/pedigree, and the unsuspecting Drow said 'Yes', could that be ruled as my Changeling stealing the Drow *racial traits* to use in tandem with his Drow Persona to make it seem more realistic and believable?"
My partner: *moment of silence before finally texting back:*
"I guess! But he would only be allowed 'access' to whatever racial traits he steals while in the appropriate form, and would lose them when switching to a form he *doesn't* have the racial traits for. I'll let you *start* with the racial traits for the Drow, but with the implication that the Drow you stole them from is angry and now on a revenge path to kill you and reclaim what was theirs."
    Me: "Deal."
The other party members had no idea, and I made my Changeling a Druid, so whenever someone tried to polymorph him - there was this one pixie that was HELLBENT on exposing him - he would simply Wild Shape into the form demanded, and play it off as if he couldn't change back, not until the Cleric 'wasted' a spell slot to cast Dispel Magic (the DM never actually marked the slot off as spent though, and played it off as their God granting them a 'free' spell as reward for their devotion). Finally, it happened... my Changeling went down and failed his saves, officially dying and reverting back to his true form... but the other party members assumed it had something to do with him being Circle of Spores, and his obsession with the death and decomposition part of the cycle of life that made him change, and so they went to the local 'all-powerful' priest to bring him back, and he quickly played into their assumptions like "Oh yeah, the spores like to feed off of everything, turning even their Master into a ghostly gray corpse, Yup! But uh, I can command them to reinfuse that vital essence back into my soul!" and in a flash of light he's back to being a Drow and things continue on as normal, until finally my partner wised up and had the pixie try to Polymorph him into an animal he couldn't Wild Shape into (I was hoping to get to a high enough level for Flying speed before then 😅) and with a couple of unlucky Deception fails everyone realized "OH, W A I T-" and he had to have the obligatory awkward explanation and the broken trust and all that, that they eventually recovered from and now he just uses his Changeling nature and Fey powers to fuck with people, having canonically stolen things like an annoying goblins voice ("Can I have your word?" while 'negotiating' a promise) and the literal legal rights to a Bard's choreography ("May I have this dance?" to the Bard, under the guise of an admirer). He's fucking hilarious to play XD

Here's a story of my favorite character I've ever made, Duke the Deku, in a Zelda-themed D&D session.
Duke was a chaotic evil murderous merchant who *literally* worshipped money. Not a god of money, just money itself. I also repeatedly (with the consent of other players in the party, that's important, don't make your chaos unfun for other players) repeatedly put the party in active danger, or made multiple attempted murders against important quest NPCs. I got to a point where the villains were scared of how evil my character was, and the party only kept me around because, despite my antics, I did prove consistently useful to the party (even if I did attempt to summon demons to attack our party just for the fun of it).
Fast-forward to around midway through the campaign, and our party gets lost in the desert having no idea where we're going. I decide to pray to my rupees to try to see if they can guide us out of the desert. Get a nat 1. DM says I now realize money is nothing more than a social construct. This completely shatters my character's entire core, and thinking of what the most chaotic thing I could do in response to this, I tell the DM and party "aight, I'm lawful good going forward". And I committed. This resulted in me rediscovering Christianity (which we found out is canonically a real religion in the Zelda universe going by the Japanese versions of the games), handing out food to the poor and hungry, taking on every quest I could to help people, and trying to right every wrong Duke had ever done. The party was suspicious that this was some extremely long con, but no, it wasn't. That desert geuninely changed Duke.
Unfortunately Duke was killed in battle before he was able to fully carry out his mission, but the party made him a proper grave to honor his attempt to right his wrongs, and in the afterlife, he was forgiven for all of his crimes.

I'm currently playing a sequel chronicle set in Barcelona. The city is ruled by our sires, who are the our PCs from the previous chronicle. See, we took over the city in a VERY violent way, but we immediately reached out to everyone we could in order to establish diplomatic channels and hammer down pacts and alliances. In case you're not familiar, Barcelona is encased by a river on each side, the sea and a mountain range; all four of those mean Gangrel presence, and three out of those four mean Mariner Gangrel presence, so it was in our best interest to get along with those.
Flash forward to the current chronicle, in which the Mariner Gangrel around the city are probably our most useful asset. Anyone tries to come or go by boat without permission? They get jumped by a bunch of bizarre sea monsters. Our quarry tries to cross a river in order to leave our jurisdiction? Good fucking luck with that. Some fucker runs for the hills? Better make sure they can navigate those more efficiently than the shapeshifters who live there and whose only obligation to us is not letting anyone out without previous authorisation from our bosses (our sires).
We keep showering these kindred with all kinds of gifts and favors (and formal boons, of course), to the point where they've become territorial and don't let any more Mariners settle in "their" waters because they see this as a very beneficial setup and they don't want us to think they're taking advantage of us "land lovers".
Bonus fact: I'm playing a ported "Old Clan Tzimisce" with three dots in the Way of Water school of Koldunic sorcery, so I can walk on water, meld with it and paint images or text on it in order to comunicate with the Mariners in our coast, which makes me the perfect liaison for this particular diplomatic relationship. This means I'm always the one reaching out to them either to tell them what their payment/reward will be or to physically deliver it to them. Those fuckers love my character to the point where one of them told him "you're not bad... for a Fiend...". Probably the highest compliment that character's ever going to get, in-game or otherwise.

The Warlock simply Dominated the assassin and ordered himself to turn himself in to the guards.
The Sorcerer was offhandedly decimating his assassin using only bonus actions while he checked to make sure that his lab assistant was alive and stabilized. The remains of the intruder stood frozen in the hallway.
    And the Artificer? Oh gods.
He took exactly one hit, and then turned around, locked the door to his lab with both of them inside of it, dropped the key down his tunic, and then spent the next five rounds doing nothing but activating each of his magic items and spells that added more and more layers of armor to himself until he was functionally invulnerable (imagine Iron Man suiting up). Then he started EXPERIMENTING on the poor guy.
His assassin had three full rounds of just sobbing curled up in the corner as he awaited whatever fate the Artificer had in store for him, as he watched his target keep standing there, adding more and more excessive buffs to himself.
