I liked your thoughts! I love both versions of the game... Where I agree with you most is that they're different games. Honestly it's not surprising to me that a game changes this much when a developer works in isolation for 6 years. Ultimately though... even though your viewpoint might be a majority. Saying the game is a "complete disaster" or that "nobody like it" is false. 40% positive reviews means 40% of the players willing to speak up enjoy it. The "Biased Sample Fallacy" is really interesting when looking at this situation... Ultimately I really did enjoy your video and watched the whole thing, thanks!
I agree with your stance, while I side with the majority the game is still completed and looks beautifully as it plays, thanks for sharing your thoughts as well! Very nice to read that some people do enjoy it!
The best gear you can get from a region is going to drop from the last 5 star encounter.... you get the best reward from the last fight and then you dont even get to use the reward because you go to next region after the last fight... making the best reward you can get be completely unusable
One of my favorite things to do in alpha was to build my character with all the tempo gear I could find. My goal was to get the fastest attacking rogue I could but with the new Cube world I cant really do that. I agree with your thoughts nice video! I'm still having fun with it though but I feel like it's not going to last that long.
I think the logos are just pure irony. The alpha had a simple delicate font, its perfect to the last detail,no mistakes, pure, simple and refined. The beta has a blocky, stagnant font that made it clear that it was formed from the alpha.Bits and pieces taken from the simple handwriting to make a new idea, but nothing compared to the original. Irony is such a bitter feeling...
The full release font is so much better lmao. Alpha font was generic. Looked like a powerpoint title. Edit: And wtf does stagnant mean for a title screen???
The things I liked most about the alpha was exploring and leveling/gearing up. In the current version, you have to sacrifice one to do the other. Either you gear up and stay in one region or you go across the lands and explore without ever leveling up at all. The alpha had many flaws like forcing you to spend your skill points on either combat stuff *or* utilities (Which the artifact system could actually have alleviated) or the unusable upgrading system for gear, which ended up costing more platinum coins than you could ever earn, but at least you could feel like you're progressing somewhere, rather than being stuck leveling from level 1 to level 5 in every region over and over. Changing regions feels like a slap in the face. "You cleared that region? Good job! Now start from scratch!" is not my idea of a fun time.
I appreciate and respect your video. Though there was a part that I was confused about.. at about 2:55 you begin to speak more in depth about the tools in regions. You also said that some of these tools aren't given to you until after you complete the region. That's simply not true. All of the tools available within a region can be found regardless of the progress you've made within them.
I see what you mean but through my playthroughs I was locked off from certain tools like the glider and boat until I found it in another region. May have just been unlucky with how they spawned however
I don't like how the beta forces a playstyle the best part about the alpha for me was hand gliding across biomes with my friends would really suck if we had to both find hand gliders in each new biome..... but as far as technical things go I just want alpha 's lighting system, terrain generation, and ranger Bhop back(r1p), Honestly the only really bad part is the region locking(there was a reason for it I just feel like this is a barebones solution bring back adaptation to make weapons work in other biomes or something) you also can not drop items to your friends anymore which is weird I can't give my buddy items I find for him. Looking for artifacts is a big addition and would be cool if they actually did something it would make the game have more point then just grind dungeons like in alpha. There is a lot of good in the beta I noticed new items like apples and the new powers look awesome especially the mages. I'm sure nostalgia plays a part but I 100% agree with your assessment of the game in its current state maybe one day we will get the game we want till then ill be playing alpha and having loads of fun!
Totally agree. Don't lose hope tho! There is another game called veloren. Its an open source game thats like cube world. I think it has alot of potential for the future. Check it out! Loved the vid btw. Subbed
I just don’t understand why the developer would change so much or think reversing progression is a good idea? He had a whole alpha but decided not to play test a complete rework in game design, just a dumb decision

@@kommikai thanks :) I really do hope the game continues to improve though!
wollay had the oppurtunity to make 100% of the people happy but chose 40% instead.
Hopefully he still has the alpha version
@@kommikai He completely changed the genre. it would be alot better if you looked at it like a rougelite

The only way currently to use gear I. Other regions is to get it in as a 5 star+, but that’s rare and you will have to grind hard for it.
Idk man I’ve played 3 hours only and got a purple axe and then used that to kill a yellow which gave me a yellow axe
That’s fine to get but you need gear with a + to use in multiple regions!
KommiKai I got a purple axe with a plus on it

It can be sooo good. Just a bit of love is all that needs. a bit more tweaking and some quick changes!! I really hope its fixed.

I like the idea of using weapons but some of the features are just not so good.

Totally right
in my opinion without mods beta is worse, but mods easily change that, so in the long run it's better than alpha
mods will save cube world
i got a account online and its free wait what
