Damn, that's a really good guide, i've been getting characters to master and Dhalsim is literally the last one, did the ft10, lost 8 lol, dropped to platinum and now got him to d4, he's surprisingly fun to play, he has the complexity that I feel some characters lack on this game, just wished I got to see this video sooner.

Finally finished working through this. Its really helped an awful lot - moved up to just below Master, from the D2/3 border, as a result of having a much more solid approach to the game. Really appreciate it.

@ReadyF0RHeady almost every match-up the moment u get knocked down....but due to the new drive reversal change I would say (Ken, bison, Akuma, kimberly, juri, ect...) these characters are very very oppressive smothering dhalsim ....and either there air approach is really strong or there neutral skip ability is very strong getting them in faster than the average character...which means sometimes u won't be able to play the game
I have a video on my channel dedicated to defense. It's really hard, but you'll eventually see how the opponent likes to pressure and regain your momentum.
Great video! Thanks! The main issue with Dhalsim I have is the Dualsense controller. It is a pain that almost all of his combos require to end it with a 63214 command. Like 4mk 63214pp etc. It is super hard for me on a PS5 controller. Considering I have to rely on them a lot of time. I manage to do them from time to time. But often enough I drop combos :(
I know Sim players who play on pad, including the Sim god Mr. Crimson. It's all a matter of practice and patience. Execution you'll grind out and eventually it'll be easy!
@@Narath_FGC it is getting better step by step but does not feel too fair comparing to other characters’ inputs:) Anyway, not dropping him:) Maybe I will bring him to Master same as my Ryu
@@gauwoofit's gonna cost ya, but you can get a dual shock 4 and a brooks fgc adapter for $120 total. Much better than dual sense if your gonna commit to pad.
@@xooks3050 thanks! Maybe I’ll consider it one day. I’m already Diamond 4 with Sim. So far so good. But I often think it is not me, it is opponents not knowing what to do with him. It was much tougher reaching Master with Ryu overall. Maybe I was less experienced then.
i came back to sf6 after a long break last night... i got bodied. not sure if i want to play sim any more. i capped at plat 4. its def difficult gettin any use out of teleport.
He's hard, but there's a satisfaction with overcoming difficult obstacles with him since he requires a deeper understanding of the game and your own moves to succeed. Wishing ya luck on whoever ya pick.

I still struggle with corner defense and combo conversions. I feel like I just win games in the neutral.

As a brand new (but returning from SF4) Sim player, what combos would you focus on learning?
imo I would prioritize learning b.mk or db.hp into M Flame and jab confirms into drive rush or super, that'll get you the most mileage early on
