    This video is amazing. I’ve been trying to search for weeks for information like this. This video just came up randomly, thank goodness it did. Thank you for taking the time to explain this.

      Glad it was helpful! I know what you mean. A couple of years ago when I started bookbinding I was looking for a video on this topic and couldn't find any so I decided it would be nice to share what I've learned. Have fun making notebooks! ;D

    This was a wonderful video. You are very clear and skillful. I learned a lot of the details that always seem to goof me up. (I missed the instructions on how to put the lines in, but my menu bar doesn't look the same). I hope you still have time to create and be a mother! It's such hard work trying to do both. Best wishes to you!

      Oh, my gosh! I left out the last, most important part, that doing both is soooo worth it. It's good for you and your family!

      I'm glad it was helpful! You can draw a line using Shapes under Insert in the menu bar. I hope you find it, let me know if you need more help :)
      Thank you for your kind encouragement. It is definitely a challenge to balance work and family life but as you said it is truly worth it! This week my little girl started calling me mama and it filled my heart with joy!

    You talked about the printer - I am using a Brother Lazer Printer (MFC-L2685DW) for printing. It uses toner cartrages and prints about a 1000 pages per cartrage. The cartrages I have been able to pick up for $25.00 (per twin pack). Yes it only prints black and white but I only use it to print letters plus some content on the internet. I think that this would be an excellent addition to have when you are doing this and it prints double sided print.

    Thank you for this! I just made my first lined template using Word. How do you make a dotted grid template using Word? I also have photoshop, so a tutorial using that would also be helpful.

    • @amethystatelier.creations
      @amethystatelier.creations  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      YEY congrats!!! I bet it felt good to print that first template :)
      To make the dotted grid using Word I had to try a couple of different things but it can definitely be done. One way is to change the format of the line (from the drawing tool) into dotted, the same way you would change it into a staggered line. The problem with that is its limited how much you can change the size of the dot when you make it longer, bc technically it is an image.
      Another way is to use periods and space the gaps evenly between each period. When you already have one row of periods the way you want them to look, use copy and paste for the rest of the rows. Then you manipulate the distance of the rows to match the distance of the periods to make a perfect square. LOL, it’s easier to “show” this rather than explaining it in words… I will make a video in the future to make it easier to understand. Since I’ve been receiving a lot of request to make one for Photoshop, I think I will make one with that too.

      Yes, triple please do a tutorial with Photoshop! I have a custom cover but it only uses one side of a page (folded in half - front and back). I would like to use all four sides for the cover using a double-sided print option. Do you know anything about that? Perhaps Adobe indesign can do covers better (Use one double-sided folded sheet to utilize all four sides -front cover, front inside, back cover , and back inside). I've played with InDesign a little bit but I cannot get it to be double-sided to make all four panels.

    photoshop is a tool for creating digital images, not for print work. the adobe tool that is designed for print work is called "indesign".

    • @amethystatelier.creations
      @amethystatelier.creations  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Actually, Adobe Photoshop is widely used for print work. It’s particularly great for editing and manipulating images to prepare them for print publications, such as magazines, brochures, posters, and more.
      Adobe InDesign is what designers often use for layout and typesetting in conjunction with Photoshop to create comprehensive print designs. However, if someone wants to use Photoshop to create their layout because it’s what they have available, I don’t see why not. It’s good to be resourceful and work with what you have.
