Man IDK why Empire catches so much shit from people I love this game played it for years and yea the Economy is a bit of pill and rough but its so worth it if you make to late game LOVE MY LINE INFANTRY and Skirmishers. BTW great guide my dude
"Lee Harvey" - Hehe! It's pronounced "Lay Have" with "Have" pronounced with a serious New England prep school accent as in "Hahve a nice day." Great video, I love Empire, I'll be watching more of your work.
put a sloop on each trading port receiving a trade route. that way, when it is attacked by a fleet, it won't be destroyed and just blocked. it'll save you money from repairing it until such time that you can end the blockade
What you should do in early game is to focus more on being small yet elite. Campaigns like the french/spanish are hard because you control alot of territory but its all pretty economically destitute and its hard to defend the land in all the different theatres when you can barely fund your armies. I find the prussian campaign the easiest because there isnt much to defend and you are surrounded by extremely rich provinces ripe for the taking. If you just go after really rich areas first you’ll just start steamrolling the AI. Taking a few german/italian states is more beneficial than taking all of North America. In my french campaigns I get bogged down in taking all of America from the brits and the indians when really it would just be easier to abandon America and go right after the netherlands and the british isles.
I'm no expert by any means but what i have found is having 1 army that you rely most on in each theater that is well rounded to the theater and your playstyle is the best solution. i usually go for highly experienced line infantry and artilary with a few Calvary for moral
They are for trading Send them to the edge of the map on the white boxes and select the circles for example the coast of Brazil, there you can get sugar once you are there just dock them and you will get some resources
You can’t. Well not true you can but you have to lose your capital to an enemy faction and then your next most powerful region becomes your capital. This and you have negative economic penalties for several turns to basically mirror the cost of moving your administration to a new region.
@@FaramirsRangers do you know how i qualify another region to become my capital because i was on turn 30 and lost my capitol and it ended my campaign, game over. Even though i was quite established across the ocean.
Good question. So if you are an European nation if you lose all your land in said theater then you are toast. Meaning if you want to knock United Provence out of the game you simply have to take Amsterdam and their American and Indian territory becomes rebel or emergent nations.
@@FaramirsRangers Right on thx for responding bub. I am the untied provinces and am concentrating my efforts on land grabbing in the americas. Right now im on like 50 turns and am afraid the same thing might happen again where i lose my one province in europe, which happens to be my capital, and it ends my game lol.

Trade nodes give you trade resources that you might otherwise not have access to. If you are struggling with your economy remember to balance your land army expenses against your tax income.
@@FaramirsRangers I think it was how you pronounced the cities of Marseille and LeHavre. No offense, its a good guide but sticking with England for the purpose of that guide wouldve resulted in less cringe :) I know its not my place to criticise someone's pronunciation, but still tho it was quite painful to the ear.
Great info. I took a completely different approach and suffered my first ever defeat in a Total War campaign.
Glad you liked it
Which nation were u playing as?
@@purtzian Prussia.

Yes couldn’t agree more
I’m just pissed that Western Europe is like 4 cities
Its the most broken TW game in history of TW, that's why.

Lol I mispronounce much more I’m sure. I also do mixed metaphors.
John, maybe you’re joking but that’s not how you pronounce Le Havre. It’s more along ”Lu avre” with a french ”rrr”.
Super helpful. Thank you
Glad it could help some

trade ships are cheaper :)
How do I build farms? It keeps coming up saying I can build it and it will build population and trade income.
It could be that you have not done enough research yet to unlock it.
"Lee Harvey" hahahaha!
The biggest problem i noticed is that when i field atleast 4 armies my income is Very low mostly due to that i pay around 15 thousand in uppkeep
Field less armies until you have better economy or more land

Its a old video, I know :D But as a new player. I just wanted to ask when/where should I send out my trade ships?

"Wortenburg" dude hahahaha! I love it!
Yeah I’m a crazy Texan lol
Interesting videos. Don’t worry about pronunciation we know what you mean and tbh we’ve all done it 😂
Thank you lol
how do i change my factions capitol to a different province?
