    Suggestion for securing hair. After a few wraps securing hair, wrap and tighten with 28 gauge floral wire then finish wrapping normal. Hair should hold a lot better. Walmart had best price. Hope this helps. Might not be an easier way to tie but should hold better.

    I use one of the wifes hair clips to hold the hair while tying. Easy to remove and reposition when needed

    👍...perhaps if you elevated the clamp from the table and angled the clamp towards you instead of parallel with the table. Awesome video.

    I have been tying jigs for over 35 years. You did a great job explaining the entire process. Can I ask what mold and hook you use for your tog jigs?

      I got the mold on eBay, its a Collins mold I believe. The hooks I use for the tog jigs are VMC black nickel

    Nice
    I use alcohol on the hook at home to help with the shad body when I change them, goes in easier. On the water changes bottled water works. I prefer not to use saltwater.

    Nice jobs on the Mojos! I buy some every year for 10-$13. I'd consider making them, but not sure I'd ever break even on the supplies. Would you mind sharing what it costs to make a 10oz mojo? Just a single unit - not the molds and special tools....If you're doing this as a business then no need to share costs - I understand.

      I usually pay $1.00 per pound for lead, hooks range between .25 and $1.00. Skirts and tail around five bucks. Thread, paint and such minimal cost per lure. Hope this helps

    Does the rubber band stay on or do you take that off? And any thoughts as to why mojos have hair tied in reverse compared with a traditional bucktail?

    • @redline927
      @redline927  ปีที่แล้ว

      rubber band is just a holder while tying, it comes off before using. they are tied in reverse in order to give a larger profile when running in the water
