Wow, there's a lot of story behind this hit. I thought it was interesting that this song was written by two females. As it turns out, these ladies also wrote many other songs for this band; also together and separately and with other writers they did songs for Tom Jones, Frank and Nancy Sinatra and a whole world of others. As for the Electric Prunes, their story, at least the story of THIS version of the group, didn't go very well and unraveled during the recording of the album "Mass in F Minor."
