  • This is the chopped-down version from the Daphne Redux video, containing only the portions pertinent to painting a patina. Say that five times fast.
I think the other video has more meat on it's bones, but I mean-- I get it. By this channel's standards, half an hour is a short one.

Kind of Bob Ross feel to this video, buddy. As always, thank you, and job well done.

I think it looks perfect!!! That is exactly how I want my cab. Also I want you to know how much I love your videos. I am doing a complete rebuild on my home rock crawler course. Do you have a Crawler Canyon Facebook Page? I will probably go back to your video where you build the new section of your crawler course. I really like how the mortar turned out.

I've only watched to intro because I watched to full previous video😊

I like it, I wonder if white should go between the color and the rust to give a primer effect?

There are no rules. I've done white or grey below the rust, over the rust, no white/grey at all.

I like both the long form and more concise versions, both have their place.
The plastic model guys (Plasmo is my favorite) often use multiple layers of weathering with clear coats in between. Then on some of the layers they will use thinned oil paints for oil marks and to tone down weathering.
I'm now looking at my old Landy body stroking my beard 😂

My brushing/weathering is a bit rusty-- it's been a good long while since I worked on a proper model (though I still have some of that armor in a box somewhere.). I have a handful of unpainted shells at this point, so there's sure to be more opportunities to practice in the future.

@@CrawlerCanyon it came out great! I will be using the vid as a reference if/when I subject my Landy to my creative efforts. Looking forward to more installments from crawler canyon I'm hooked.

That (IIRC) is Tamiya PS30, "Brilliant Blue."
