Hi Kenny, thanks for the great video! one question: what's the difference between soloing one track and muting all the others? aren't they the very same thing?
+monkfreak72 lol Right? I mean, it's useful for basic recording and clipping but when I realized I needed to the mix my vocals I was like 'Well, crap. Time to get back into Reaper'.
Had trouble panning to the right on my laptop trackpad until I figured out the direction to drag is diagonally to the upper right, not around the knob. Panning left works the opposite way, i.e. diagonally to the lower left of the pad. Don't know if this is a glitch with my trackpad or a customisable feature? Took me a while anyway so I thought it might be worth mentioning in case anyone else is struggling with this.
For anyone confused on the exclusive solo, make sure you hold down ctrl+alt (pc) or CMD+Option (Mac) and move from track to track clicking the solo button. You'll see that the tracks gets solo'd one at a time and the other solo's are muted. Using the menu version is too awkward. Works the same for mute.
I especially love that Kenny makes these on the Mac. The manual is PC centric. I know they probably sell a lot more PC licenses, but I don't know any professionals who use PCs. I tried for a while while I was waiting for an insurance replacement on my MacBook. It was nearly impossible. I spent more time just keeping the PC clean and functional than I did recording. The program itself is very much the same on either, but it's nice to see the slight differences, like picking colors, done on the Mac. it's all so much smoother and feels so much more integrated.
Lol, doesn't having the ability to solo multiple tracks at once go against the tracks being, well, "solo"? Because I mean when you solo a track you should only be able to hear that track alone since that's what solo basically means. All the DAWs and trackers I've used before implement soloing that way. Then again i havent used that many other daws or trackers so I guess I'm biased :D
I appreciate your videos but we really don't need to see examples of all the colors and pictures per track, it makes it hard to stay focused on what is already a hell of a lot of information!
You're a fantastic teacher. These tutorials are worth more than I paid for Reaper.
Thats a credit to reaper and this guy both!
A humble add-on: you can fine tune(less difference) volume faders in the mixer by holding down ctrl and moving mouse.
Yes. Thanks
Just started messing around with reaper as my first DAW. These videos are a god send. Thank you brother.
Hey, I've been messing around with Reaper for over 8 years, and these video's are a God send :)
I'm learning so much in this video ! Blown away !
Cheers for going through all the color customisation and icon options, It really shows how personal Reaper can be. Very easy to follow thank you.
This program is simply awesome!
I'm currently waiting for Live 9.7.5 but I'm not sure I'll ever return
I'm converting from Sonar and Pro Tools to Reaper so this is very useful to know where everything is. Great work
Really appreciate your videos dude. Thanks very much. And the fact that you remind me of Christopher Walken only adds to the experience! ;)
Thank you for your educational videos you have helped me a lot .
Dude, thank you so much. I appreciate your video tutorial series SO MUCH! I've learned a ton already :)
VERY USEFUL VIDEO AND LESSONS FOR REAPER !
Thanks man I think everything you say is necessary and really makes it fun and easy to learn everything without any black holes!

This is great, Can't wait to redo all my raps over instrumentals. audacity is the "paint" of audio software LOL

@@JPDEOfficial lol you went from REAPER to Audacity? interesting.
I mean. Audacity is a good program but REAPER is a real DAW

I discovered Reaper about a fortnight ago, and its possibilities seem quite unlimited! A wonderful DAW
My tracks doesnt appear on my mixer, why?
If you press alt to mute on selected tracks, unselected tracks will be muted.

Awesome vids man. A 10% like: view ratio is unheard of with DAW tutorials.
Can I set track color by double click on color box on the track?
Hey just a heads up for Linux folks; track color can only change the textbox color for now on native build
My fader/volume is a round knobb, how do i change it to the one you have?
Same problem
For anyone else wondering, right click on the track, go to "Track Layout" > "Track Panel" > and select "ca - Large". That's the one he's using.
When I change track colour, only the name of the track changes colour and not the entire track like in the vid. What did I miss?
Thank you so much
Thx a lot :)
I 'm impressed.
is he the creator of this software?
No. But he is a client.

Glen Fricker uses PC

Understood. Thanks
Not hard for me to focus. I appreciate the information.
Wasn't bothering me, it gives me time to go try it myself without stopping the video.
was about to comment the same thing
Hey, I like the pretty colors ! :P
When you add 4 new tracks do you really have to say track 1 track 2 track 3 track 4 come on brother.
