Sorry dude Ken Miles was British, Carroll Shelby won Le Mans in 59 in a British Aston Martin. Then Ford beat Ferrari in a GT40 (that was designed and built by (Eric Broadley (British) with John Wyer (British) in Slough (Great Britain), yes the car was radically improved by Shelby American and the 66 race was won by a New Zealander (with a New Zealand co driver) when they blipped the throttle to come in ahead of Miles who had slowed up to let them, catch up.

Ur, I have no culture or taste so Hollywood tells me what to be interested in! Thanks Hollywood and TH-cam
I watched it last night.11/23/19. A LOT of corporate interference involved from Ford.
Wow what an amazing era and a great time to be alive
"The Rest is in The History Books." ;) God Bless you Mr. Shelby, and a Million Thank Yous from racing fans everywhere.
8:17 Even back then he knew drifting was big, well before it's time.
Only 69 comments... this is cool footage nice peace of History. I am a Mopar guy but Ford has competed in more forms of motorsports then any other manufacture
way cool video specially Willow Springs with a very few buildings on it, thank you so much for posting
Thanks for watching.
My two greatest celebrity encounters... I met Smokey Yunick and shook his hand. Unfortunately he was almost completely deaf at the time. I saw Carroll Shelby at a car show in San Diego. RIP Legends of my time.
His framed autograph on my wall is one of my most prized possessions. Oh and my GT500..
Solo Carroll shelby pudo hacerlo... un verdadero texano con espíritu suicida con una determinación y una confianza increíble... dicen es uno de los mejores en la
Industria... una leyenda. El
Mejor.
I saw two or three GT 40 Black race cars at Harrahs second floor museum in Vegas 30 years ago. THey don't look like the production gt 40 at all, they looked like someone took an English wheel , got some crazy aluminum Rosy riveter and put them together. We need more men like Carrol Shelby to build car companys from scratch with NO JOB killing Regulations. Lets make cars , ART again!!!!
This is so cheesy, yet so cool. That Daytona coupe is awesome.
Amazing footage. Thanks so much for posting.
Ken doesn't get any speaking lines because every time he flubbed a line he threw a wrench.
So what?!
Miles spoked with his God-given skills.
No microphone required!
He just wanted to race! 🚘💕
I actually like it. It made him more mysterious lol
But remember Bill was being an asshole
Cringey
I live 4 miles from willow springs.....little did I know that horsepower's God, Carroll Shelby, ran here !
What a great vid. Cheers.👍🇬🇧
Wonderfull Golden Age of motorsport. Great Carrol and cia. Good times.
Absolute privilege to hear Shelby introduce Ken Miles
Who is here after Ford v Ferrari??
Now I want a Shelby Mustang or Mustang GT and I’m a Prius owner.
Get rid of the pruis. Get a fun car. You won't regret it.
M0nkyyy I’ve had Subaru sti and 350zs among other sports cars. Pay my car note and it’s a deal.
Foxbody or SN95 You can get nice ones for $1500-$4000.
@8:17 Even these guys from way back knew how fun drifting can be
Just awesome. I loved it! Thanks for sharing.
Out of the archives a great story by the legends themselves. Enjoy
American history gold, right here!
Ken Miles is a Legend as well - First Us Driver to even win Lemans
Sorry dude Ken Miles was British, Carroll Shelby won Le Mans in 59 in a British Aston Martin. Then Ford beat Ferrari in a GT40 (that was designed and built by (Eric Broadley (British) with John Wyer (British) in Slough (Great Britain), yes the car was radically improved by Shelby American and the 66 race was won by a New Zealander (with a New Zealand co driver) when they blipped the throttle to come in ahead of Miles who had slowed up to let them, catch up.
@@stuartclarke4927 nailed it mate.
Fwiw, Ken Miles became an American Citizen in 1959
@@waltlynch7619 Too true but he is still British, born in Wales to English parents. He lived not far from where I grew up and supported a British soccer team (Aston Villa of course) That is according to his son Peter. Noah Jupe (Peter Miles) wears his Villa shirt in the film during the race.
Stuart Clarke thanks for that tidbit of trivia
These guys are exponating their massive balls of steel for us all to see
Man I love watchin this s*** takes me back(even though I wasnt born yet). such a humble embrace
The chrome was thick & the women straight back in the Carrol Shelby days.
Awesome footage. thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
Priceless footage
Another great one, Jim Hall.
carroll shelby ford forever
Fascinating film.We owe Shelby and Ford a great debt....
The movie was better than I imagined.
Wow, great footage of such famous American drivers and cars! Hoping the new Ford v. Ferrari movie is as entertaining.
Shell was a great man. Now they need to do a film on the life of Jim Hall and Chapparal cars. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
There''s a least a few DVD and YT videos available on Jim Hall and his racecars. Do a bit of Googling and you'll find them. But heck, a well done theatrical release would be amazing (and unlikely).
