I see a lot of people confused about the "change of concept" and the lyrics, so I figured I would explain the context behind this MV.
Before every comeback, Dreamcatcher always release a "mystery code" - a picture with hints about the future comeback. For this CB, the mystery code consisted of a whole ARG with an X account (ymenehcra99, who also appears in the MV in 0:48 and 2:35), documenting the descent into madness of the user, who was obsessed with "the crown". The person running the account mentioned doing things like spending lots of money on luxurious clothes, chasing a truck with the crown symbol and almost getting into an accident as a result, and they even posted an audio of what sounded like an alarm, as if they had stolen something; all that in order to be "worthy of the crown".
This MV might seem flashy and superficial, but it's supposed to be satire about how things like the idol industry (and social media too) are not as glamourous as they seem at first, since a lot of what is posted is actually fake.
It's also critisizing how some people are willing to do anything to be famous and get attention: buying nice clothes and faking a luxurious lifestyle (hence the OOTD lyrics being so narcissistic and so "generic" - they're playing as the "villains" who let fame and power get to their heads/won't stop at nothing to get attention - and Sua and Siyeon posing in front of cars and motorbikes around 0:27 and 0:40), staging fake drama (like Handong and Yoohyeon faking a fight in front of the camera in 1:32, only for Handong to help Yoohyeon immediately afterwards), or even editing their reality to make it look more interesting or appealing (see for example the very obvious green screen behind the girls during the dance scenes in 2:55, or the multiple photo/video editing references, like in the very beginning of the video).
DCC really put a lot of thought into the concept, so it's a pity that many people don't have enough context to properly understand it. Hopefully this comment clears the confusion about the lyrics and concept!💖

Thanks for supporting Dreamcatcher! Also, yes this is a new sort of sound for them. I get surprised by Dreamcatcher every come back. They have their own style that flows from song to song, yet the ability to change it up their style in such cool ways🤩I love it!

@alexatakesalook so many insomnias believe this is criticizing the fashion industry. You only ever see their confidence in the MV through the lens they want you to see. And editing has been such a massive thing in fashion for years. It would fall in line with their style and calling out the industry for how toxic it is due to how many edits are done on a single photo(as someone who did these edits for a while, a single photo could take up to 6 hours or more to edit and could contain 30 or 200 layers before the product is even considered for publication)
The MV gives me a very specific MTV circa 2000s vibe. It would be playing just as you got home from school. Like the experimental vibe, the editing and camerawork and those gorgeous fits. This is something so new for Dreamcatcher and they have all my respect for executing it with such style🙏

This comeback is really enhanced by the hidden lore that's been going on for over a month on twitter/x (its so fun to just spend some time on the reddit reading through the backlog of whats been going on, its an arg style puzzle).
The vibe of this song is rather different for dreamcatcher but the fact it has a deep meaning about current topics hasn't changed. I believe its meant to be about narcissism and being superficial? (I'm still deciphering everything myself).
'Rising' from this album is a huge bop and definitely slightly more their normal style, also this is likely to be a standalone album rather than the start of a story line, but we never know with these girls :D

As far as the story goes, i am as lost as you are. But the message of the song pretty much obvious. Talking about the music itself, it is very new. Usually they put trial genre in b-sides. But this time, it is the title song. I did expect difference, but it hit me hard that i was not impressed on first listen. But I am loving it now. It still has the Dreamcatcher sound to it, the rock is very distorted.
Their b-sides, love it. As always. Waiting for our album reaction..🎉🎉
I liked it on first listen, but not as much as some of the other song's I've listened to, but it is growing on me as well!
Some songs take a multiple listens to really take in all the musical details. It's wasn't like some other songs like Deja Vu or Bon Voyage where the pre-chorus just melts you instantly :D
I thought I knew what to expect from Dreamcatcher after multiple comebacks and then they went "yeah..... nah, we do what we want". On the first listen, there's so much to take in, the music video, the instrumentals, the vocals, the layers - I'm pretty sure I blanked out for 4 mins and had no idea what happened. Eventually after binging lots of reaction videos and listening to sections again, the first verse is almost a prelude for me, up until Gahyeon's "Shall we start this game?". From there it's like 'too bad, we're starting the game anyway' and it jumps from first gear to fourth gear and goes crazy from there. I like the grungy guitar and punk-rock sound in this later part of the song.
The b-sides took care of the rest of my wants from the album, those songs are maybe more in line with past Dreamcatcher releases but also fresh and different in their own way.

Siyeon's hair is naturally curly/fluffy like that but she has to keep it straightened most of the time. I love it this way she is even more Siyeon than usual.

Yep, it happened again, got floored by this album. Blacked out and collapsed just like the POV character at the end of the MV. The title track OOTD wasn't an instant like at first, but after many listens it's growing on me, the second half has its own groove and vibe to it. I did hear a snippet of the teasers early on so was hoping for a Muse vibe from the grungy guitars in the chorus.
Btw, Dreamcatcher albums are a whole listening experience, including the Intro Track through to the B-sides. Had Rising on repeat constantly last night, couldn't figure out what song it reminds me of... The whole album is giving a 2000s music vibe, can't quite put my finger on it.
Once I am done with this little break, I want to do a while album listen!

My interpretation is that they an AI generated version of Dreamcatcher, put together from all of the edited content of them. As more content is edited, the AI gets stronger and wants to take over. The lyrics are from ther perspective of AI Dreamcatcher, trying to convince the masses of how perfect and flawless they are, thus making them villains (like the slbum name).

OOTD is the first song I dislike from them.
It's definitely different from their usual concept and themes, but I don't mind it! Also, I've been told about the Boxxy thing before LOL
