The Juniper transformation turned out to be the star of the show imo the literati appearance was hiding within a few branches. Crispin seems to have at least a bit of talent. The trees are alive after 7 +/- years of care and pretty good with pruning with Peter's guidance. Practice, and it comes with experience.
Great student! That would be nerve racking being on video like that with someone with so many years of experience. You did a great job man. It puts a smile on my face watching skills such as these being taught and receptive eyes paying close attention.
So jealous am I, he gets to work side by side with Peter, my guess is that visit was well appreciated, given the honor of workking side by side with a master on his own trees, not many get to claim that honor. Well done.
THANK YOU, VERY MUCH!!!! I AM, ALWAYS AMAZED, AT HOW "BEAUTIFUL", and quickly, that Mr. HERON CAN DO THIS INTERESTING WORK, ON SO MANY SPECIES. BRAVO!!..
As soon as I saw that juniper I could see where it was heading but ended up looking better than I imagined especially considering no wire was used. New round drum pot definitely the way forward now.
I really like the pick the side game with the juniper. It really helped me figure out whether or not I’ve got the eye, so to speak. I think I’m starting to figure it out.
i will comment on every video until i can open my own bonsai nursery! Always so delighted to watch a new Heron's Video. cant wait to have a decent channel like this! Thanks for all these amazing videos Mr.Chan
I’m not an expert, but I’ve watched a lot of peters content, and in several of his videos he basically says “Any tree can be made into bonsai”. May not be an exact quote,But….close enough. Happy growing!
in theory yes. In practice, there are species that are suitable and others that are not. Species that have small leaves, grow quickly and tolerate pruning are particularly suitable.

Be bold. That is the very best advice in bonsai. Thank you, Peter. What a nice collection and transformation.
