Man I needed to hear this. My shop is a disaster area and my work clothes come from Costco. Even though I have been doing this for a few decades truth is truth… thanks for the inspiration. Cheers
Sometimes we don't focus on everything as business owners as we have so much on our plate. But we can't overlook the first impression of ourselves and business.
Perception is 100% of everything from a client’s perspective. It dictates the price, the up-sales, the repeat details, word of mouth, etc. If you’re not professional from the start, you will lose business. Service people wear uniforms. Detailers provide a service, therefore you need to be wearing a uniform. Simple, logical. Yes, you CAN get away with wearing cut off shorts, flip flops and a wicker cowboy hat … doesn’t mean you should. 😊😊😊
Just missed the premier by a few minutes , but you all hit great points ! Looks are essential. People will judge especially when you look or your shop looks sloppy. I’ve been telling people this for years that presentation brings $$. Family thought I was crazy for prioritizing style and the shop look when I started with very little. I told them perception dictates a lot! Once they saw these higher end clients consistently coming in… they then understood!
DetailOfficials keeping it real...AGAIN!!! Truth bombs and then some!! I've only been detailing cars for the past 6 months, but if I'm honest, MUCH of what you guys said applies to me. I've often thought about revising my SOP and aesthetic presentation. While I don't have many of the tools that you guys use, or an actual detailing shop yet, I do have customers and live on a busy road where people passing can see me and what I'm doing. My results are good, still, I need to improve on those aspects. I am always willing to improve and to grow. Positive change is always good. My logo and uniform are en route! Thanks for posting such an informative and constructive video!! GREAT content!!
So when I first started I had low end clients at which now like 40-50-60 bucks regular washs now I have $100 up client washs 10 years later but I didn’t want leave money on table so what I do my employees I have do lower end dirty work regular washs and I show up me and a employee at times for my high end washs of $100 and up so I cater to both clients , like they say there so many cars out there more enough work for all competition. So it’s like I have 2 mobile detailing companies, catering, the lower, and the higher end clients so far it’s working really good in California and the OC -Riverside -LA - San Diego area so that’s how I was able to grow to 10 trucks and 20 employees. It is important have nice clean shirt with company name clean cut etc to represent the company and truck look decent and clean
@@DETAILSofficialI blame it on all these self proclaimed “detail professionals “. Just because they see some guy make a video about how he got an LLC and bought Chemical Guys products for$500 and watched a couple CG Videos, now they make it seem like any idiot can be a professional detailer. They go out to do a paint correction after they have only ever practiced on their own rig, charge stupid low prices. As a detailer/business owner why on earth would you want to make videos telling other people to start up competition, that is the dumbest business decisions someone could make in my opinion
Agree on views and man its hard to find the right clothes for detailing coz u can easily over dressed for the occasion lol! specially mobile detailers it must be gruelling. For me we dont go around its a lot manageable. I just put on a clean plain polo shirt and a pair of Stone island joggers or whatever thats fresh clean joggers and clean sneakers is my uniform , most important take away is ur clothes arent faded much and clean lol!
I agree 99% of the time this is all true. Exceptions to the rule fo sho. We got this mexican joint here in Phoenix that dont look the part, but the food is fire 🔥
