Great idea! Did you double wrap the top of the handlebar for extra padding? I hope you don't pass anyone on their new $4000-5000 carbon gravel bikes. It would make them feel bad!
Hi..I have a F1000 frame caad3 but should be the same/similar measurements.. Was the headsets 1.5? If so..did you have difficulties buying spacers and/or bits And what bits did you have to get..sorry for the thousand questions lol just need to double check
@@juanmanuelvazquezrosales3840 thanks for the info.. sorry for not replying.. forgot all about it! .. I ended up buying a Hope Reducer headset that's working a treat, I have one question again though.. sorry lol I really want to put 27.5's on this bike, it's a caad 3 but has the same seatstay style, do you think as I'm turning this into a city bike, that with low profile tyres I could fit a pair of 650b's dressed in slicks on it?.. I have some good 26' wheels for it.. but as it's going on asphalt mostley then bigger wheels.. easier ride.. what do you reckon?.. any good? .. i just watched your update video too.. Your f500 is looking veerry nice! Muy Hermosa!
Hola Mario, funciona bien para ser v-brake en la parte trasera no hay tanta demanda de frenado en lo que respecta a la compatibilidad con los mandos, no hay problema
Hello there: I used the brake/shifters (tiagra 7 speed) with the corresponding rear derailleur . The front derailleur was the stock one and it worked well. Are working on a similar project? Please share your work 😀
Transmission wise nothing is stock this project bike is gravel intended so the cassette, crankset, chain, shifters are not the original Mtb components I have shimano Tiagra (7speed)shifters to match the rear derailleur and the crankset in an Ultegra 53/39. In your case if your shifters and derailleurs are the same Groupset (Tourney )you should have no issues. Regarding the brakes I have a rear v-brake and a mechanical disc brake (Tourney) up front and the braking power is good enough for my riding needs.
For some reason I feel like riding this awesome old Cannondale through the French Quarter of New Orleans, LA. 🥰😎🎶🎷🎵

Good Job Juan !! I have an old Cannondale F400 I want to convert to gravel, thanks for the video.
Dont forget to post your videos!
solid build
Thank you
I am a little bit confused, didn't that version of the F500 already come with the Disc break mounting spots on the rear ?
Started caad3 maybe?..mines f1000 caad3 and it has both
Negative they didn’t get disc brakes until 1999
Exactly Caad2 didn’t have disc brake mounts in the frame
Nice job
Thank you...
Why not keep the flatbar?
Drop bars seem to be the best option for long rides...

Hi, mine came with the headset with the reducers to Fit a 1 1/8 fork originally stocked, since this F500 had an Indy Rock Shox fork ...

Saludos
is it necessary that we change the rd and fd? will the shifters work with the ones that were previously installed on the mtb?

What kind of shifters or levers are you planning to install?
@@juanmanuelvazquezrosales3840 so you changed the rear derailleur?....doesnt the stock one work?
@@juanmanuelvazquezrosales3840 i have tourney gears....both fd and rd....my doubt is whether they i'll work with a tourney brake/
