My childhood wasn't greatly different to this - albeit a scaled-down, suburban version and with no swearing - but it's a sad state of affairs that this way of life is seen as something worthy of an anthropological documentary in modern Britain.
Isn't there any way as an adult now this boy can protect his inheritence from his parents swandering it away if it means anything to him and would he want to pursue that stance
Just to be clear the reason the estate is cash poor isn’t because of his parents, it’s ancestor further back like 1800s that basically gambled away most of there possessions like paints and stuff leaving just the house, land and village.
I think the father being an alcoholic and the mother with gambling addiction between the two of them no money at all will ever be available to sort Thier historic home out and unless they face reality they will have obliviously doomed Thier entire family as Thier home is going to be a doomed wreck even more so because they don't realize how they are qwandering away Thier eldest sons inheritence year after year it's selfish and sad
SO TRUE I THINK THE PARENTS ARE LIVEING IN A BUBBLE OF ARROGANCE AND IGNORANCE AT THIS RATE THERE WILL BE NOTHING LEFT TO INHERIT AT ALL THE HOUSE WILL END WITH THESE PARENTS ZAPPING AWAY ANY INHERITENCE THIER KIDS COULD OF HAD AND A BESUTIFUL HOUSE NOW FALLING APART DOWN TO DISRESPECT AND FLITTING AWAY MONEY SHAME THIS NOW GREAT HOUSE IS A SHADOW OF ITS FORMER SELF
I find them bothe selfish and irratateing and oblivious of Thier ridiculous shannigans ruining the future of Thier gifted family home and the kids futures ect
I'm sure that this estate could be saved by selling off more land to do the necessary repairs needed to this historic home but if the hier to this place didn't put his foot down to the shannanigans to his parents there won't be a historic home left to save he needs to bear this in mind or loose it all

@@mariacrouch7109. The confusion might be the spelling. It’s “heir” and “heiress” not “hier”. I’m trying not to be the spelling police- I had to look it up to be sure. In this case, even though the oldest siblings are twins, Francis has made it very clear that there will be only one heir. He’s a strong believer in primogeniture- the oldest son will get whatever’s left of the estate. Ironically, he may end up regretting his status, as that house looks just a few steps from being uninhabitable, and even possibly being condemned. I hope these kids are getting a decent education, because this plane has no engine, and it’s eventually going to crash, especially with inheritance taxes. Those children are going to need skills, because they are going to have to work. They are living in an antiquated feudal system that “worked” (for the aristocracy at least, though not very good for the vast majority of the people) in an agrarian society, but that is long gone, and these landed gentry are going extinct.
Bless her she is so ace! Chucking the telly in the lake! - bloody kids could be canoeing there, instead of watching telly!

That poor woman. Literally an unpaid maid.
She was a good choice
How good of the mum to chuck the TV away! They should be playing in the woods, drawing etc - well said.
He married the right girl but she married the wrong man.
I feel so sorry for her. Francis should help her not oppose her. We all see what a lovely person she is. God bless her.
Mum holding the house together
Yes, he’d be unable to care for himself and his children without her. Imagine serving one’s children raw chicken!
whichever one of those scruffy urchin kids gets that estate, will sell it immediately.lol

Advice on marriage is good. Love this guy. And kishanda is a good wife actually.

So you grew up in a crumbling country estate while displaying the manners of a hillbilly family?
Love this family.
SHAMELESS COMES TO MIND
They were better behaved watching TV...once it went into the
lake the kids went on a rampage of destruction around the house lol 😆
That’s because TV dulls the mind, it’s better for them to be rambunctious & active than quiet & pacified
Sell it and live with in your means.
Raw chicken...lol
Yeah, I noticed that
I love this family and I want to visit them and give them some money lol

They’re too posh that they are inaudible.
Oh come on...Francis is a character, I'm sorry she 😮

land owners never want to sell their land unless all other options have been exhausted. once its sold youll never get it back
