Gary loved Peter Green considered him his mentor, he has to put a lot of feeling to get the same notes and on the tone and the bends of Peter with his guitar, unbeatable in any way
Gary would be the first to admit that it was Peter Green at the top of the tree - hopefully more people will search him out after listening to this.

The Greeny guitar.. the sound really takes me back to Pete green,he had such a 'gentle' way of playing the blues.. Gary plays it with a firmer footing.. but its the only 2 greatest guys that ever deserved playing that fantastic Les paul !

To be honest, i'd wished Pete green had had it back when he started up again.. at one time Gary
was on stage and the les paul was in its stand, Pete came to see him, and walked past the guitar and as
he did so he brushed his had lightly over the string.. Gary said, " You can have it back if you want" and Petes
reply was.." Nar, its broke my heart once it aint doing it again "

Peter effectively gave him it. At the end of a gig just before "going off" Peter swapped it for a cheapo Gary had been using. Know what you are talking about before waxing cynical.

@mjohnsen7 I was lucky enough to hear Mr. Green play this live and of course I agree with you about being only one Peter Green. Gary Moore might actually feel the same way, even as talented as he is. As for me, I am thankful for both men and their dedication to the subtle soul-wrenching parts of The Blues we love. But...smiles...if I really had a choice...Peter and Danny. Gary has lots of good songs - this is Peter's.

One of my favourite guitar solos! Such passion, would have loved to have been there to see this concert. Shepherds Bush is a special venue. Can you get Blues for Greeny on DVD??
Guys, the thing is we all learn from those who go before us and in turn bring something of ourselves to that experience Gary has done this as did Peter before him, and Big Bill Bronzey before them and I guess he in turn learned at the knee of, well yes you guessed it.....

If I hadn't watched all these different cuts by Gary and I just heard the sound track to this I could swear I was listening to old Fleetwood Mac or Savoy Brown just from his vocals.

I thought you might be referring to the Robert Johnson, the man behind the myth, but after some light internet sleuthing i didn't find anything suggesting that the two had a connection. I'm fascinated with the history of blues music so I was hoping you could elaborate on the "...".
First time I have heard this. Almost amazing, however he is in comparison to the great Mr Green.
ditto, Gary was good in hi sown right, but even using Peter's Les Paul couldn't capture Peter's subtle well thought out phrasing.
listen to the Live vs. Boston, Jumping at Shadows..1:00-1:16 and 1:50-1:57 Peter's phrasing on those two parts with forever illustrate that he could never be equaled.
However, hats off to Mr. Moore for returning to the blues in the last years of his life...
i think he sweats if he just looks at a guitar. but maybe he has to touch it, idk. but he is always sweating while playing

One of Peter Greens greatest tracks. Gary just doesent do it for me.Dont get me wrong people,i think he is a great guitarist. But Fleetwood Macs is far better at this track.
e Of course Greeny totally owns this song. His vocals are heartbreaking. That said, as a cover of the incomparable Mr. Green, Gary Moore is a definite kindred spirit.
