Those era athletes were once-in-a-generation players that happen to be at the right place and at the right time together. Cane is not an AB Captain. He’s too timid and that neck injury strips away your confidence in contact. Read needed to stay on for a year post Hansens period in order to bleed in the new players. The ABs will recover, but that golden era in Rugby is not returning. At least not in the foreseeable future. They still going to be that dominant force at the apex, but surely not invincible....

With any respect for their test opponents, no team should turn countless penalty shots at goal without reward - quite simply bad assessment of the odds. The ref had no choice with the red cards, should have a replacement system after 10 mins. Not the best night for the Barrett family, and the Scott Barrett yellow card was more than justified.

After watching league for ages, those tackles looked run of the mill. But player safety is a big concern across most sports now so i think its good to stop head contact with knowledge of CTE growing.

congratulations Wallabies and especially coach Dave Rennie. One of his trademarks - tries by Tongan props. The ABs decision making was appalling. With any respect for their test opponents, no team should turn countless penalty shots at goal without reward - quite simply bad assessment of the odds. The ref had no choice with the red cards, should have a replacement system after 10 mins. Not the best night for the Barrett family, and the Scott Barrett yellow card was more than justified.
So true with Rennie's Tongan props scoring, lol. Those Chiefs props a few years back loved bagging a few meat pies.

Well done Oz. Though in fairness, the ref saying, "Direct contact to the jaw" was a bollocks Why, because if Ofa made Direct contact with the jaw, the fella would've been out cold. Yellow Card. Stern Warning, Penalty. Same for Swinton's tackle on Whitelock. Yellow Card, Stern Warning, Penalty. If that ref had to work up North he'd be out of red cards in no time! Ruined the game. OTT.
As opposed to a kiwi ref that just let's every cynical offense go unpunished? I thought the Reffing was fine. It was great to see cards shown as players need to abide by the laws.

After watching league for ages, those tackles looked run of the mill. But player safety is a big concern across most sports now so i think its good to stop head contact with knowledge of CTE growing.
