Excellent presentation and very educational. I suspected that I was going to tie my star to regular fugi . You have confirmed my suspicion. I have taught myself how to graft fugi onto American rootstock I grew from seeds. Its a long and hit or miss process so far about grafting. But 50 % successful. Thank you very much for the info. Land is not in short supply around here. If I decide to experiment with Sweeter varieties I will plant a Variety that is bad about root sprouting a half mile away. I have trouble enough with choke cherry root sprouts encroaching.
I received jujubes and persimmons from a friend last fall. they are in my freezer waiting to be added to perhaps a fruit preserve this summer. I would love ideas on how to preserve them into a chutney or other fruit preserves.
Thanks for the video. I'm just curious, if a branch is close to the ground can it be rooted that way? I know that they can root sucker because I had to trim some of the roots off a bare root jujube for it to fit the pot I was planting it in and I put those trimmed roots into a pot with top pot and they grew three new little plants. But I was wondering what my options were for propagation of the grafted portion of the tree.
Do you have experience growing pistachio trees? Also do you sell them? I successfully grew two from seeds in LA. But it was time to move the pots and the roots got damaged in the process. But other than that they did just great.
I just purchased Shanxi Li and Lang trees today. I can't wait until they bloom. Thank you for sharing your knowledge Mr. Matsuoka.

What a FANTASTIC video! I have had so many questions about growing jujubes and you answered ALL of them. Thanks so much for making this video.

Very informative video. Do you recommend plant above graft point to promote own root system in colder climate cuz I had one died in winter?
My favorite fruit to eat is the persimmon; can I grow one in a pot?
This is the video I share***
