Thanks! On the subject of your collection, I was about the same age as you when I started NES collecting. The first almost year and a half, I only had about 18 games. Then, I started going crazy when I found out about Pawn shops, and other ways of buying games besides eBay. It took me a good 5 or so years to get this many games and rarities. So just keep an eye out for places that might sell NES games, and never give up! The HES game I have is Maxi-15.And yes, I do own Action 52.
Holy Shiii- Man you got yourself quite the collection. There is so many things in here I was close to geting on ebay lol. Maybe it was you who got them first lol. Anyhow this collection is soooo win!!!
nice collection man, over 500 games you have now, if im thinking correctly you only need about 300 more to complete your collection, you are closer than I am, I currently have about 345 different nes games all NTSC, but I also collect genesis, snes, and playstation 1, and 2 games, I also have a small collection of xbox 360 games, very nice collection though, thanx for sharing this video with us.
Daaaamn, that's a lot of NES games, I wish I had a collection like that! A couple of questions though, if you don't mind: - Just how many games are that (not counting multiple copies of one game, of course) - Are there any games you have yet to add to your collection? - How long have you been collecting NES carts? - Where do you get all those games? - Which game is your favorite? Thanks in advance, and sorry if I made a typo, English isn't my first language
Hey there, thanks for comment! I'll be glad to answer your questions bro. :) When I made this video I had exactly 437 unique games total. (now I have about 500-525) I still have about 275 more games before I reach my goal; which is to have every game released in the U.S for NES. I have been collecting since early 2004. Most of the games I purchased from flea markets, pawn shops, thrift shops, craigslist, eBay (rarely), Play N Trade, Game Crazy, and a couple were given to me by neighbors.
Thanks! To answer your question, no I do not have any prototype/dev carts. I don't have much interest in getting them but if I could I'd want the Zelda Test cart or a Color Dreams prototype : )
thanks man, no problem well...(excuse me if I start sounding crazy)getting every game (cartridge only) made in the U.S is only the beginning of the NES Journey. Once I get all the games, I'm gonna try to get them all with the original boxes, manuals, etc. Also, there are test cartridges, prototypes, and accessories that I'll probably want to get eventually too. It takes a lot of time and money, but I'm getting there one step at a time. haha P.S. are you getting into NES collecting?
Hey man, thanks for replying! I agree on the quirky unlicensed games, they have a strange B-movie appeal to them. Good luck with the collection! P.S. (Another question, last one, I promise) What are you gonna do after getting every single game?
I just have the Action set (with the orange zapper). Nothing special, but when I bought it, it came with about 25 CIB games and they were all mint. $50 total. I have like 5 NES systems loose including a Toploader, and tons of accesories( including ROB the Robot), etc.
Hey, well there are many different ways to find old video games. For one, you can check out your local Pawn shops, thrift stores, salvation army, and GoodWill stores. Also, there's a game store franchise I know of that carries retro video games and it's called Play N Trade. I highly recommend checking it out. You can just do a google search to see if there's one in your area. The prices are pretty good too. I've picked up many games from all the stores listed above, so you shouldnt hav aproblem
@Daluigi207 Hey there, thanks for the compliment! I made the music in this video back in like 2008, and I think I've gotten a lot better since then haha. If you wanna check out some of my newer music do a search for DarkNES on a website called 8bitcollective. In regards to Famicom, I don't really plan on getting into that. I want to at least finish off my US NES set, then go to european exclusive titles(PAL), then maybe just a few japan-exclusive titles Also, I do have an FC Mobile 2 : )
Thanks a lot man! Nice! Yea, I got really bored one day and decided to make this video. Jeez, the quality looks terrible though...it looked crystal clear before all the TH-cam compression shit. ill have to find a way to make it look better..
@SuperBattletoads haha, yeah I'm the opposite. I have like a million NES games, and like 10 games on every other system, haha. It's too much for me so I just stick with good ol' NES. Congrats on the Mangia cart! :)
It's not really as much of a dedication, it's just a way of displaying rare items, as everything related to Raid 2020 on there was never released. I don't think Raid 2020 is as awful as everyone makes it seem. Color Dreams has definitely made way better games.
@NESMASTER14 and yeah, the first song you hear after the "robodemons" voiceover was loosely based off the original Halloween theme and Metroid. Now (almost 3 years after making that music) I cringe at it because I've gotten a lot better since, haha.
**i ran out of space (message limit^^ haha) last question- I have tons of favorites on the NES (partially why I collect them). A couple notable ones I'd say are Metroid, Battletoads, the Castlevania series, River City Ransom, SMB series, etc. I like a lot of them :P and even the quirky unlicensed ones
Yeah, it's a reproduction produced by Retrozone [retrousb(dot)com]. It's an awesome reproduction and I'd recommend getting one if you're interested. Thanks for watching my video : )
Ah, that's what I should've expected. It's gonna be hard finding every game with box and everything. And there are games that didn't come out in the US, right? You could also collect some of those, such as Parodius or Devil World, which came out in Europe and Japan. As for me, I occasionally pick up NES games if I stumble upon them, but I live in Europe, and PAL's a bitch. Games often run a bit slower than the other versions, and lots of games never came out here. I got 15 NES carts, not much.
Nope, I know people with thousands of NES games. James has a lot, but take a look at the nintendoage forums and you'll be blown away. For example, try looking up NationalGamesDepot on Google. He has every U.S NES game complete in box, including all of the unlicensed games etc.

haha thanks a lot bro!
I do have an NES in box (almost brand new actually). Thanks for noticing the MFKR Gently song. Good stuff, man.

Dang, that's a lot of NES goodness:)
Can I come over your house and play all of these? XD Great video.

damn you are a true gamer =') i wish have that collection, how much money you used to buy/get all that ?
Of course the NWC repro gets it's own spot. Nice novelty though.
Lots of rare unlicensed titles there.
Out of curiosity? Any prototype/dev cartridges?
dont worry about if you have reproduction carts in your collection its the same exact thing as having the games themselves .
I do not have stadium events. Probably never will either, unless I find one in the wild.

last question-

Ah, that's what I should've expected. It's gonna be hard finding every game with box and everything.

Check out RetroUSB(dot)com.
That guy has all sorts of awesome NES reproductions and homebrew carts for sale. I highly recommend checking it out.
I don't think having a dedicated hobby means a person has no life. But if that's what you think, alright.
