The Jeep Renegade is much more of a Jeep. Boxy design. Better visibility. Takes you back to the days of the Willys Jeep. Much better proportions. Classic styling. Easier to maneuver in traffic and more purpose built.
I've driven both. The Renegade has better visibility, much like my 2004 Jeep Liberty. The Compass is lower, didn't like it one bit. The Renegade is nimble and handles very well on the freeway that zig and zags through the mountains. No feeling of tipping over at all. Compass drives as well but feels heavier. But now they have turbo, something that does not thrill me as something else to fail in time. Another feature that is better on the Renegade is the placement of the screen. It's lower and not sticking above the dash. Big plus there. Since both are small, doesn't matter much if you are concerned about how much it will carry. Now if I can find a Liberty with four-wheel-drive.
This is exactly how I thought , as well. I was in between buying a renegade or a compass but I felt much safer with the higher visibility and the less touch screen room in the renegade. The compass was nice, but I preferred the visibility and ease to maneuver of the renegade.
Love the look of the jeep renegade, quirky, boxy an cool , planning on getting a second hand one in may next year, be fun choosing what engine, transmission,an trim level and colour, be looking forward to seeing whats available nearer time, would love the renegade in yellow, green or red in either limited spec or night eagle spec 🏴👍👌
Jeep renegade is the smallest in their lineup 💯🙏
I just bought the compass and I absolute love it! Feels a bit more premium and smooth compared to the Renegade.

Although, technically, it’s not a Jeep. It’s a rebadged Fiat 500.

Both cars , back row not enough leg space compered with other mid suv’s😊
I don't like anything about the Compass. Liking the Renegade.
The Renegade 1.3 has more horse and torque than the previous and that gets into the 40s to a gallon and 30s
