I remember when I was like 8 or 9 years old and saw Tina Andrews in Conrack and said "I like that girl". My oldest brother told me, "she was in her early 20's in this". I than saw her in 'Roots', ''Good Times', and 'Sanford and Son' and said "well he was definitely right". She was a good actress for being 23 year old playing a 13 year old!
@@annielehnhardt_kolakowski5818 that was another actress, although Tina played on Good Times 1 or 2 times. Most notably as the Pregnant teen JJ was dating.
We were smart youths back then. I was 6 but took care of seniors and children back then even new how to get downtown and back. What the hell happened! 😔😪
Yes it did not like today. Black men cheating on their women, playing stupid games and our people finding it humorous. I don’t even watch certain movies with certain actors in it because I already how stupid and ghetto it’s gonna be. We love looking at foolishness and movies where our people degrade each other!
This a jewel I wasn’t born yet. This was great. Sadly not much has changed since this came out in terms of seniors on fixed incomes. Now we have homeless senior citizens. There’s a lot to learn from others regardless of age.
There are many programs, but a lot of them slip through the cracker because they are not educated on the system. In the South, it is very hard to get help. So if you are a Senior with health problems, do not move down south if you can help it!
@Shandra9000mail thanks for sharing your thoughts about your feelings for actress Estelle Rolle. I respect your opinions and feelings. I'm going to share with you about my feelings and opinions about Ms. Ester Rolle as an actress. From the bodies of work that Ms. Ester Rolle appeared in was always where the characters were strong, entertaining, loving, caring, sharing and teaching. Did you know that she fought for the rights for the character Florida Evans to have a husband in the show Good Times. She also didn't want the characters to always being stereotyped either. Bottom line she wanted the show to show the strengths and unity of what a poor black family living in one of the largest cities in the U. S. truly are. Even though by the standards of what others may have thought what poor black family was. Those characters were naturally talented, smart, hard working and etc. I always thought of Ester Rolle to be one of the beautiful women too. Again thank you for sharing your thoughts and I am glad that you and others are enjoying this movie.
A 16‐Year‐Old's Winning Campaign at Albany Women's Meeting Shawn Leach is 16 years old, a poised black teen‐ager from Greenburgh, N.Y. Like the saga of Jimmy Carter running for President, but on a much smaller scale, of course, Shawn's is a tale about someone who came out of virtually nowhere and got much, much further than anyone, including the experts, would have dreamed. She polled the most votes of any nominee at the huge New York State Women's Meeting in July in Albany, beating out some national feminist celebrities. Further, she will be the youngest New York State delegate, and probably the youngest delegate in the United States, to attend the First National Women's Conference in Houston Nov. 18 through 21. Shawn Leach's name was one among 320 candidates on a ballot sheet three and one‐half feet long. Those nominated were net in alphabetical order, nor were their affiliations given. The American Arbitration Association supervised the July 10 voting in Albany tabulated the 3,600 votes cast by New York women from all walks of life and certified the results. There have been no charges that the final Albany election was rigged. Out of those 3.600 votes cast, Shawn, co‐founder of a little youth group called Black Reality and a member of the Westchester Black Women's Political Caucus, got 2,056 votes. All five of the top vote getters at Albany were minority women, with four of them black and one of Chinese origin. By Nan Robertson
she (Tina)was an executive producer for the film version of the Frankie lymon off- Broadway bio pic why do fools fall in love in 1988. my honey Lorenz Tate did a marvelous job and along a twenty three year old Halle berry. I know she still producing films and tv shows like one on one on UPN, numerous of years of ago.
Age doesn't define a person's skills or abilities. I'm an advocate of this. Ppl are always so curious of my age b/c of how young I am but my morale is unexpected 2 them. My response is always the age of the present. 😂🤣 *#NoseyLowFrequencyMinds*
All these rare hidden gems starring our beloved black stars.
You are never too old, or too young, to step into your purpose.
I'm thankful for Ms.Esther Rolle. She helped me to grow up and accept my natural beauty
Me too!
Dawg, This short film really touched my heart! We need more movies like this in the black community!..Wished it was a little longer..

A great movie !! It's really sad that movies aren't made with a purpose like this anymore.
She is blessed to be an actress
Out of all the actress I have seen this woman is a legend
A fantastic upload based on a true story of people helping people- it starts with us at the grassroots level. A child shall lead them!!
This short film bought tears to my eyes. I never knew Ester Roll outside of Good Times.
Check out her character doing detective when her character son is a cop, and she plays a maid.

There is no way in this world Esther in her 20’s here. She looks much older than that. She acts way mature than her 20’s.
@@misslonghair3884 not Esther😂. It's Tina he's talking about.
TINA had some acting chops. Couldn't wait to watch her perform back in the day. 😊
She was in Good Times as T.K., Bookman's assistant.

Television had a purpose back then. That purpose no longer exists anymore. Damn shame!
Edutainment...
Yeah we are living in these times of selfishness and proud group of people today...
That is so true. Everything is all about money.
Exactly 👍
