That's true. He wasn't just a country/pop singer. He loved the blues, jazz... And he had the blues roots from his childhood. "I love all kinds of music" - Charlie Rich. Thanks for comment! Best Regards, Tim
Charlie is at the top of my list of all time favorites. I covered Behind Closed Doors at a little bar in Nashville with the house band and when I finished I met a glamorous older lady who had been long time friends with Charlie and his wife. I still cover a lot of his songs. Nobody could nail a love song like him✨
That's so fantastic!! I am fascinated beyond dreams for many many years by this pictures and paintings version! It's a perfect song, so authentic and his voice and piano playing in best shape, his style, long white hair and looks totally cool, too. Also love the fact that the choir sings the last fragments of going home without him and he is hopefully enjoying it and just plays humble and true his beloved ivories...
Thanks for this wonderful collection of music and interviews. Charlie was such a wonderful musician. I feel sad that he was so uncomfortable in interviews. Greatly missed.
You're welcome, Riccardo! Thanks for watching! I collected material all these years and still do, and all these things for people like you who want to see more Charlie' material! Yeah, Charlie always felt uncomfortable in interview, however he could plays and sings without any shy. Kind Regards, Tim.
My Dad and uncles went to school with him, I remember my dad pointing out the house across the street from the high school where his piano teacher lived, on nice days they could hear him playing piano before the bell rang and at lunchtime.
Wow! Thanks for your comment, Everett! That's abolutely amazing! You probably mean the person named C.J. Allen (Charlie Rich's teacher)! I have one friend who in process of writing the book about Charlie Rich's life. Would you mind to contact him and tell him your story (if you remember some stories)? Let me know if you're interested, I'll give his contacts or give him your contact. Greetings from Russia! All the Best, Tim
@@CharlieRichArchive well, that’s pretty much the whole story, Dad didn’t talk much about him ( or anything, really ) but he did occasionally hum along to his songs on the radio… oh, and my mother and his mother worked together in the hospital auxiliary in the early-mid 70s and I remember my cousin got his autograph when he was visiting his mother in hospital once- That’s all I got.
