  • Pink Himalayan salt is used in speciality foods, spa treatments, and even home design. 100 grams of it can cost $5 to $8, up to 20 times more than generic table salt. So, why is it so expensive?

      Yes, many industries in South Asia have little to no health and safety regulations and serious worker injuries are common. It’s a real shame about some of the conditions workers experience at all levels of the supply chain.

    • @devuniquedev1
      @devuniquedev1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +63

      It's very common.. I have witnessed labours working without any safety in white marble mines in ajmer near Jaipur, India. All salt is exactly the same on a molecular level. The only difference between pink himalayan salt and regular table salt is that the regular table salt is pure, whereas the pink shit has dirt and other rocks and impurities in it.
      What you're paying extra for is dirty salt. That makes you a sucker.

      Exactly! They want you to buy the latest luxury items that are made from the same old cow leather as any other handbag, but when it comes to something you eat, it has to be the cheap shit or else you get labeled a health food nutter. Why would anyone want cheap table salt with all the minerals chemically removed? The only thing I use that crap for is when my cat throws up and I pour salt on it so it won't soak into the carpet.
