- An unboxing and review of The Flintstones: The Complete Series on DVD, in the box set format. In this video you will notice that I was mostly excited to open this up in the beginning, then towards the end I was really disappointed in the packaging. The content on these discs is exceptional...I wouldn't ask for anything more. However, the packaging here is nothing short of terrible. Some discs had some scratches right out of the box, and certainly they wouldn't be able to survive long if I kept sliding them in and out of these tight paper sleeves. So, I did actually end up sending this back to Amazon for a refund. Kudos to Amazon for having the best return policy in the world...Shame on Warner Brothers for releasing such a great show in such shoddy packaging. I'll be on the hunt for the individual season releases as soon as I find them for a reasonable price. Thanks for watching!
That was a great Unboxing on this Version of Flintstones Complete Series on DVD because it's designed like my Seinfeld Complete Series on DVD with how it has all the Discs individually in separate sleeves for each Season.

Thanks for the video! I actually really like the packaging, but agree about the difficulty in removing this discs. Perhaps use a cleaning cloth when you remove the discs, so you're not directly touching them? I think that's what I'll do. It's $48 on eBay right now. Gotta go for it!

If you're worried about scratched discs get a DVD binder I got one recently for my DVDs it works great.
I did the same when dvds have awful cardboard packaging But that makes the packaging useless lol
I remember seeing them on TV when I was a kid in the 90s but a couple weeks ago I saw them on cable TV on some channel.
I was originally gonna get this for Christmas last year (2016 to be precise) but after hearing all the terrible comments on the packaging (yours included) I changed my mind and got the seasons individually. Plus the individual seasons have great artwork!

I have this DVD! I got it on my 20th birthday a few days ago!
I bought the original 2008 of this set brand new and used and he's right, the used set had several discs that had scratches on them. The new set, the only disc that gives me a problem is Season 2 Disc 3. The manufacturer SHOULD replace each and every disc that has issues because of how they're packaged.
Very cool looking box set, sadly we British people only have the first 3 seasons on DVD and Warner didn't bother releasing any more afterwards which is a real shame.
The differences between this DVD and the other one. This DVD of The Flintstones The Complete Series has booklets with the exact same discs from the individual seasons. The other DVD has 2 DVD cases with 10 discs each and it's in a box set. And now finally color and black/white. All the episodes on this DVD are all color. The other DVD with the 2 DVD cases the seasons 1-3 has color and black/white and seasons 4-6 are all color so I'm not interesting with The Flintstones being black/white and color but I'm interesting this TV show in color. So for my opinion I'll get this DVD because all the episodes are in color.

+Blu Ray Hunter I agree. The packaging is terrible. I'd recommend the individual seasons even though they are more expensive. I actually sent this set back to Amazon. I can't deal with the scratched discs.

Courage the Cowardly Dog Season 4 DVD is now out.
The discs should of come in a case that is similar to the South Park 1-5 DVD set.

I actually got this for Christmas and boy was I disappointed by the packaging I mean half of the DVDs were completely fucked the minute I first took them out and the only ones that worked right were the first 3 dvds and then it all broke down from there but Warner Bros doesn't care how dvds are packaged as long as they got your money in their hands they don't care.
Never was a huge fan of the Flinstones but I picked up the first season to and when I saw the diamond collection I can see why some enjoyed when in reality I don’t see myself calling it a classic cartoon in general

Do you think companies know they make such terrible packaging? Now youre recommending buying the individual seasons which could cost more than a complete series. I mean buying seinfeld individually will run you way over 100 dollars. But the complete series is less than 90 bucks.

I did all the seasons when they permird on metv last fall on vhs at my buddy's house now I've slowly been putting on DVD but keep the vhs for back up just in case

Have you considered burning the content to new discs? That way, you’ll only need to touch the original discs once or twice.
Who creates this disc scratching packaging? Couldn't come up with anything better? I won't be buying anyway as I have all 6 seasons individualy. Much better packaging.

same thing that happened to the simpsons from 1 - 10 they were better box sets then they changed to cheap shit boxed ones from 11 - 17 - 20 thanks for showing this i was about to get this rather then the seprate ones and now i know which choice to make. nice artwork but a terrible pack setup for the dvds especially double layer.
I really hate how warner bros. screws fans over with very cheap packaging and being very overpriced. It's better to just buy the individual seasons than this excuse of a complete series. Does warner know how easy it is for dvds to get scratched?!

I got the the diamond collection
you can uses this linux software that I forgot what its called but basically rip DVD in HD and keep then on USB harddrive so you can just transfer to your android for long trip. I haven't tried it but pretty sure the linux DVD rip works on raspberry pi if you have linux deploy and USB DVD drive :D
You reviewed the re-release version, the original version had better packaging.

I DO HAVE THIS THEE MOVIES AND ONE SPECIAL DISC. THAT IS KNOWN "DIGITAL BOOK" ANY WAY ITS MAKE HECK OF A LOT BETTER IN SOME PLACES AND VERY POOR IN OTHER AREA. ITS BACK TO THE FUTURE ALL THREE MOVIES AND ONE BONUS DISC IT COMES IN BLU-RAY THE WORST PART OF IT IS THE OUTER SLEVE,. VERY WEAK. THE BOOK IT SELF MUCH BETTER. THE BLU-RAY DISCS DO NOT SICK OUT OF THE PAGES. I THINK ITS OUT OF PRINT BY NOW. I DO NOT KNOW WHERE THE DISC IS MADE. THE LAST 3 MOVIE BOX SET IN BLU-RAY DISC'S REFLECTOR ROTTED MADE IN MEXICO FORCED ME TO WASTE MONEY BUYING ANOTHER SET AGAIN. THEN I ENDED UP WITH THE DIGITAL BOOK VERSION. SO FAR ITS OLDING UP VERY WELL.
