Cherry bomb was a fantastic transition from his dark violent era of music (bastard, goblin and wolf) to his mature introspective era of music (flower boy and igor).
I just saw a video essay about the BWG trilogy, the themes present are rly interesting to explore. Spoilers below The trilogy ends where he's able to resolve the different sides of himself and allow for his introspective works to follow afterwards as he's a more cogent person
It's amazing that Okaga, CA is the setting where Flower Boy takes place. In "Where The Flower Blooms" he says "Now I'm riding through OKAGA" right before Frank Ocean's part.
one aspect i think that’s very interesting about this album is how later in his flower boy interview (the one on his youtube channel) he literally says cherry bomb lyrically is a bunch of disconnected stories, and yet the album still feels so personal, but the incredible thing is is it’s intimacy is communicated through its sound rather than its lyrics, which is really special in my opinion
I don’t get how many didn’t like this album! I still love it to this DAY! And he even drop and FULL OUT instrumental “album version” of it. THAT alone shows how much he even loved it.
I loved cherry bomb when it came out. I like when rappers start bending into other genres but keep that hint of hip hop in the music. Still listen to death camp, okaga,ca, keep da o’s, blow my load, 2 seater and smuckers to this day.
@@aizaks_ So i just had a listen up to cherry bomb. And i definitely don't hate it, can definitely understand the divide in fans..but i think there is a good deal of distortion?.. or like a few tracks where its like they purposely made the music louder than tyler.
This is amazing now I love it and I love the documentary too now people dance like I don't like this album there's some songs that I don't like but it's a good album and plus I love all Tyler's Creator albums it shows growth and people do the same thing and yo I want that same album All over again but this is Tyler's Yeezy of Kanye West album that's how I think of it
There could be a theory with this voice mail for the lead up to his new album. It sounded like multiple Tyler’s laughing which could be a reference to his other characters from Wolf, Goblin & Bastard th-cam.com/video/6w2CMjrMkUE/w-d-xo.html

Facts
@@nickn4672why would listen to tyler if you wanted “soothing” music
I'm willing to die on the hill of this being his most thematically dense project

I can't be the only one who just thinks fucking young is weird... right? It's just creepy and a huge blemish on a pretty great tracklist for me

Only reason to get physically weirded out by ðat song is if you can relate to it, lets just say. Ðat being said, you feelin ok?
